I don't know, maybe it is just harder than we all think to make a good Superman movie.

@Pessimippopotamus: It just wouldn't be so bad if they didn't green-light so many great shows. Why do they even bother if they aren't going to give things a chance? Joe Doe - 22 episodes, Firefly - 12 episodes, Brimstone - what, like 8 episodes.
@anomaly_kid: They do have a history of (once) saving a show and giving it a pretty good life after it moved.
@SG-17: Cable networks need to get less rating than broadcast networks. If a cable show got the same ratings as a network show that was, ratings wise, doing badly that would be an AMAZING night for the cable show.

The killer for me in movies like this is when they hang around a joke too long. Does that make sense? They have scene or even just and idea that is great, then they stick around and milk all the humor out of it til it's stale and you forgot why you laughed at it in first place.
@yepyepyep: I would bet that because of the illegality of the procedure a lot of women are getting it much later in their pregnancy (for lots of reasons like just not knowing they are pregnant, or not being able to find a provider) so they fetus are much bigger and developed.
