I've never been one for the Rancheros. Never did much for me. But I always did enjoy seeing that beautifully restored and babied Ranchero some kid had in high school. His commitment to that car was obvious and admirable, especially for a teenager.

@WilliamG.: I kinda liked the happy little "Finished!" ding ding ding at the end there.

I wonder if the Tesla folks have heard of that phenomenon where an artist's work soars in price after their death? Seeing as how that's what they're experience with the resale price on the roadsters, it seems oh so close to home for them.

I'd drive it. And I'm not even an old man!

In reminiscing I wandered over to Wikipedia's entry on the Ranger. The current generation is actually the fourth. Model years from 1993 to current include the third and fourth generation trucks.

    Ah, memories.

BBC really needs to rethink their approach to spreading TopGear to American viewers. Don't think of it as just a car show but as cultural outreach device. TopGear has opened my eyes to many previously unknown bits of Brit society and life in general. Thinks like:

@bigblockautoX: That explains everything. Jeep is the adopted, red-headed step child.

@dodgepolara500: I must keep an eye out for these gems now as I live in South San Jose. There's a lovely old Willy's Jeep truck a few blocks from my house that I really should catch some snaps of. It would fit in nicely with this trio here.

That new Camaro those tuners at the Auto show last month had was a pretty good match up. I'd take that one.

@lilwillie: Nah. Needs more firepower. Explosions. Mayhem. That sort of thing.

@lilwillie: A Stig battle to the death should be amusing. Let's see who wins......

@lilwillie: Too bad for all the rest of us that your customer service principles are not contagious.

I've been lucky thus far that my only real issues have been niggly little things like poorly sealed diffs, loose oil pan plugs and the like that I've caught before they got out of hand. I'll just ignore the severe dry reaming for parts from Jeep dealers as that's stuff I couldn't find anywhere else (WTF who uses 11/16

Wow. That grin in the poster frame. If he's looking to avoid the Carter comparisons then maybe he needs to not grin like a Carter caricature.

@Daniel Horney: Delicious and fawking blinding in daylight.

@rip: Maybe if they had any HOV stickers left to sell. So, no.

If it's not too presumptuous of me to say so, as someone who potentially fits into the MILF category, I must agree with the S5 placement here. Wow, does that car make me, um, happy. Yeah, happy. That's it.
