    Caliber? Child abuse.

Am I the only one that caught the SLR douche looking guy reflected in the rear shot?

OK, I've got two Jeeps, an '00 and an '05 as well as an '03 Honda Accord in the household. I can't siphon gas from any of them as there's something in the pipe on all of them that prevents anything solid like a tube from being dropped into them. I don't know if they have screens in there or anti-spill valves. Either

The hamster's looking fit again, which is good to see. May looks like hell, but that's nothing new.

This article is such an alarmist, narrow and short sighted piece of malarkey that I dunno where to start. What I do know is that the current economic climate is spectacular for vetting the wheat from the chaff among us car enthusiasts. Sayonara chaff! Have fun driving your soul sucking Priuses and Smart ForTwos. We

@Forge42: Loving mine as well! I'm a big Apple fan myself, but the iPhone still doesn't quite have enough aftermarket software love for me. Maybe when this one kicks off in a few years, I'll look at an iPhone.

Here's a modern candidate for the field.

There are only two things I do not like about this thing. The first is the back end as it looks like they stole it directly from the first gen Tribeca. And twoVW seems to be backing off their plans of getting a 50 state diesel in the thing by end of year. Fix those two and I'd be all over this one.

@Ash78: That new TDI does look nice. There's been ruminations about it possibly showing up the Tiguan but that seems to be fading as a possibility. Seems these new clean diesels we're being promised are proving to be a bit more complex and expensive than originally thought by manufacturers, which is a shame.

Ye ole Jezza certainly does have quite the substantial luv solar panel workin' there, hasn't he.

Maybe Cameron's Dad's priorities weren't so far out of wack.

@UDMan: Normally, I'd be right there with you on the decrying of lack of 50 state diesels. However on this one I think it's safe to say we've dodged a bullet here.

Edmunds slates the Tacoma for a redesign in 2011-2012 timeframe. So with that so far off I'm actually disappointed in such minimal changes. Even with the changes the truck got in 2005, the design feels antiquated.

Here's a sad thought. Maybe it's not dead and just slated as a midseason replacement. Good god, I hope not.

As long as Cameron can fit in the back, it's just right.

On Sunday morning, I hope to find this under the Mother's Day flower* arrangement I didn't want. And by this, I mean the many, many boxes, nay crates, this collection must ship in. I'll spend the next month lovingly opening each box while smiling quietly to myself as I think of all the things I am going to break down

I do think they're on to something there. With it stretched like that it seems less high centered. It has a similar visual balance to a Magnum. Almost reminiscent of a big Merc G series as well.

The base truck definitely has a market, granted, an extraordinarily small one. Race teams needing to tow heavy stuff and extreme car nuts with the cash to haul their hobbies to shows and such. I've seen a few of both who use very similar tow rigs.
