Those rear spring perches, ugh. Such low hanging targets for breakage. Let's hope that gets rework should it go to production.

Personally, I find it crazy lustworthy. But on the realistic side, the small pickup market is so dead I wonder if it's a smart move for Chrysler to experiment with this right now. Maybe if they in the least canned the Compass they'd have room for it. And then again maybe the Jeep luster is enough to make a respectable

@Ray Wert and @danio3834: True and true. The SS badge seems like total marketing BS on par with the overused Hemi name and the oft abused Trail Rated badging. Does SS stand for anything significant anymore? I suppose Chevy's trying to prop it up with it's use on the 'Vette.

The saddest part about it is that this is a brand freakin' new truck. Dude, next time you've got $25k you'd like to throw away, give me a call. I'm sure I can find a better use for it.

@offyatindy: I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets that damn song stuck in my head every time I hear the name Tucker too!

I might have missed the original coverage of the Nassau concept, but doesn't that think look like a fat Acura? It's the headlights and that crease in the nose. Hopefully Car magazine is wrong on this being an indicator of anything to come. Not that I dislike Acuras, I just think it doesn't have that same testosterone

@offyatindy: I have no idea what you are smoking, but I hope you brought enough to share.

We're special in a short bus kinda way. Not the short bus in the traditional bib and helmet crowd sort of way mind you. I'm talking about the short bus that was sent out to the rural areas to pick up the kids with the weird, borderline militia lovin' but advanced degree holding parents kinda way.

@turbo1168: Got those +4's for my Wrangler. So far, they've been a worthwhile upgrade. Smoother idle though any mileage increase is hard to discern with big ass mud terrain tires and an aero profile on par with a cardboard box.

Don't forget about a light coat of dielectric grease in the boots to keep those plugs dry and minimize radio noise. And depending on the ease, or lack thereof, in which you can reach those plugs you may also find some wobble and/or extension sockets handy. On the Hemi in my Grand Cherokee, those bastards are in there

What @snep said. Beyond that, it's so terribly subjective that it defies concise definition. It's a lot like art that way.

@rognbrow: You don't know America very well, do you? We strive for self-indulgent perfection in our television. "American Idol" comes to mind....

@akatsuki: Ditto squared. It's just that most people equate car shopping with dealing with car salesmen. No one relishes that experience.

Beige ain't always bad. I submit that hearing aid beige can be downright kick ass.

@Markstre302: You need to take a gander at some of the images of 1960's and 1970's Southern California. Those smog and emissions regulations were necessary evils. [aqmd.gov]

OK, I just had to go dig up the list. At the risk of getting sued.....

Guys like Nader can be a pain, but so are vaccinations. I'm glad to have both of them to suffer through. He's a lot like the ACLU that way.

That first shot is so crying for some photoshopping love.

Time to start trolling thrift shops and Goodwill stores!
