People cause themselves a lot of pain by thinking rich people are concerned with anything besides making more money.

I’m sure you know that Hollywood is based on making profitable movies and not on on giving work to whoever is the most pleasant. Nobody is forgetful; they are not forgetting that Mel Gibson’s work has brought in billions.

I’m surprised the fact that none of the 9/11 attackers were from any of these countries isn’t getting more press. It’s pretty much the only argument you need against the ban but it hasn’t been publicized much at all.

What a meaningless reply. Are we above demanding that our commander in chief not kill innocent people with missiles fired by flying robots? Is that not even a question worth addressing, since “war is war” and we can’t let it get in the way of our love affair?

I’m only arguing here because someone who actually agreed with Trump’s decisions would argue all the more vociferously. That said, regarding the first table

Number of deaths would be a better way to sway opinions on the subject.

Try not to forget that Obama is responsible for the deaths of 100+ civillians in drone strikes. I’ll admit though, we as a nation do not deserve a truly peaceful president.

Well just to play devil’s advocate, if he were asked that and if he were smart, he would have said that his company alone could add 1,000 jobs, and that if you factor in all the other companies in multiple industries that could also add jobs, it would be a big gain.

I work in wildlife conservation. I’ve always known that the animals were screwed pretty much no matter what, but now my career is screwed too.

You’re assuming that when people acknowledge that it’s illegal, they also think it’s bad. They didn’t ask if people thought anything illegal is bad

I know vegetarians who will eat meat that would otherwise be thrown away, like if someone else doesn’t finish their meal at a restaurant. I think it’s a good thing. It makes perfect sense to me, if someone is a vegetarian for ethical rather than health reasons. That’s the kind of deal ancient Buddhist monks had, too-

Does anyone think it’s relevant that the comic itself, and the character of the ancient one, were both created by white comic book writers? Honest question.

I haven’t seen a single person yet mention the likelihood of mental illness. Having worked in an inpatient psychiatric unit for some time, I can tell you that they are exactly the type of people who would go and do something like this- usually not at this level, but attacking people, setting fires, sending death

I know what you mean. For one, the guy is probably mentally ill. People calling him stupid etc. should probably consider that, because it’s the case in many such incidents.

I don’t understand why anyone cares what the pope thinks or wants Catholicism to become liberal/progressive. The sinfulness of homosexuality goes way back in most religions, and I feel like it’s an odd, ineffective strategy to try to get those religions to change their doctrine. How about you try to get them to stop

Anyone puzzled by this is making the mistake of thinking that either CNN or Van Jones actually care about anything other than generating ad revenue. Van Jones probably has some feelings about things but he’ll only express them to the extent that they’re compatible with an overall money-making strategy.
