Replica might be my favorite XX song, actually. Love the way the bass drops into every instrumental break (and then again with Oliver singing towards the end)

I didn't get into Interpol until after their hiatus following s/t, but if someone never listened to an Interpol song again after that album I would understand.
I'd say "All I Need" and "Weird Fishes" are too!
I now have the urge to listen to Mouth Moods again
WHAT SHOULD WIN IN AN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE WHERE THOSE TWO FILMS DON'T EXIST AND NEITHER DOES MANCHESTER BY THE SEA: Arrival
Meh, needs more burps.

Wait, these are pretty solid picks!
Crazy how Darnielle has hundreds and hundreds of songs but hasn't ever written an outright bad one.
He's a pretty competent interviewer (the Laura Jane Grace interview was surprisingly thoughtful)
I finally saw it for the first time a few weeks ago and I thoroughly enjoyed it!
Cuomo didn't even include one of Billy's good songs, like Summer Highland Falls or something.
Wait, which ones??
"I'm Talib Kweli
"I'm not losing my audience! Am I losing it?" *crowd cheers*
Seems like that's the most underrated moment of this clip.
Sorry - what I meant by that was that it's been criticized (haven't seen it myself) for not paying tribute to jazz's roots in black culture. So if he directed a Hamilton movie, I imagine there would be quite the uproar.
It's especially bizarre given that Chazelle was relatively careful to be respectful of black culture…
Slightly off topic, but Lindsay Ellis did a brilliant video essay a little while ago about the Rent movie and why it failed miserably, and I strongly suggest looking it up (the cast is only a small part)
Ryan Coogler's a good idea, and he did say around a year ago that he's interested!

Sincerely? L. Cohen.
But the magic of the movie is that it moves so quickly that you don’t find yourself wondering any of that stuff until at least, say, the sixth viewing.
