Man, I dunno. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of her, but she was a genuinely important figure in LGBT representation, and it felt like people were a little too eager to gravedance when the reports came out. Like, “ah-ha, I KNEW something was up with that bitch!”

I was working in TV ad sales at the time, and yeah, the advertisers dropped out in droves due to her “controversial” gay identity after coming out.  Network TV is all about the ad money.  There were very few willing advertisers in the beginning of the talk show, but she proved that she could do comfort food

I totally agree with you.

In theory but its good of them to straight up say they recognize it without any attempt to fight it or ignore it.

Publication date + 95 years is the rule. So Winnie the Pooh went public this year. The Milne estate sold the rights to Disney in the 60s, so they held it as long as they could.

Never forget that Austin absolutely refused to sleep with Vanessa when she was drunk, and that Austin Fucking Powers is actually, for the most part, a prime example of non toxic masculinity.

I’m curious and scared as to what is going to happen to the hordes of people who a) don’t understand the law and b) think Amber Heard should be found guilty (of what?)

You do know that Pratt has never voiced any support for Trump, right. He mostly does not say much about anyone, but DID donate a lot as an Obama supporter and his wife is a very vocal Biden supporter, so I don’t know where the evidence for any Trump support comes up.

I would say the majority of the internet doesn’t understand that the law suit is for defamation, or what the elements of defamation are. That really skews the various takes. It also doesn’t help that the media benefits most by focusing on the more scandalous aspects of the case, rather than educating their audiences

and even more likeable that he’s stuck by Amber Heard, who ironically is the one who lost roles to what is happening.

Portman isn’t an awful actor though, she’s a good one. It depends on the material she has which does mean she isn’t a great actor. Great actors can take the worst stuff and still deliver a good performance.

Part of the problem with those takes is people think the case is about who abused who. It’s not. This is a defamation case and so what Depp needs to prove is that Heard knowingly lied about what she wrote and she targeted at Depp to ruin his rep. Which honestly is nearly impossible. Heard abusing Depp was little

She is on tape admitting to hitting him to stop him drunkenly crushing her toes against a door. Wow. How abusive of her. And oh shit, she hasn’t been able to give that money to charity amid being sued repeatedly by her ex. I forgot that defending yourself in multiple libel and defamation trials is totally free!

Hemsworth is delightful and Ragnarok is the one Marvel movie I can say I love. Reportedly Portman left the series because she was unhappy with it. That makes two of us. She’s awful (imo) and the two actors have zero chemistry. If Waititi can make this fun - great. I just hope they don’t try to make them a couple.

Now will a full trailer I’m... a little less excited than I was with Ragnarok?

I’ve been following his career since he was 17, and he’s in many ways the best do ever do it, which makes this weird, bigoted, late-career heel-turn all the more disappointing and heartbreaking.

No mention in the article that Lee is up for Felony attempted murder too in an unrelated case from December? And it was supposedly one “transphobic” joke: about the gun knife weapon Lee had on him.

Is there any particular reason why the review makes sure to mention Friday the 13th, Left 4 Dead, and Evolve, but at no point references Dead by Daylight? For a lot of people, I think that’d be the more useful point of comparison. It’d be like if someone put out a platformer where you play an electrician who fights, I

Sam Rami thought the tree scene went too far, Rob Tapert was the one who thought the tree scene didn’t go far enough. He was also the one responsible for the naked girls being lead around in chains by skeletons in “Army of Darkness”

I think the criticism of the MCU for trying to cheerlead minimal queer representation is valid, but given the bad, and badly dated, treatment of bisexuality and to a lesser degree queerness in general RTD gave on his most mainstream shows (especially Torchwood), he is not someone I am interested in leading that
