Not even Gundam. Not asking for OG Gundam or something like that.

I don’t know, I remember an old media ping about him being an anime fan and saying he was into it, but you get to rec five and they’re just the biggest shonen hits ever? Honestly I little more variety. He can like what he likes, but that was a pretty narrow band.
This is only half true—since even at that time it was offensive. It’s just that those offended were even further marginalized and ignored. There actually aren’t “new” offenses in this regard.
I said this elsewhere--I was never much of a G4 watcher but the racism doesn’t surprise me. What surprised me is that the game, with its gameplay being different than Western and other RPGs got reduced to that...
Like any shorthand, it can be both. That’s stereotyping--limiting for everybody all over the place.
Baten Kaitos’s card gameplay was and still out of the norm, so while many games are repetitive, so honestly I found the actual review (rather than the racism) to be the most surprising thing.
In the conversations I’ve had about AI in creative endeavors, (long story short: I think it’s hear for technical work but not “creativity” without curated inputs), I’ve been thinking manga and anime are the prime candidates for it. Whole novels or novel ideas would be hard to germinate, but episodic stuff in genres…
Thing is, I think the other voicework we hear in the trailer sounds more or less fine—it’s specifically the lead’s sound quality that sounds worse not in general to me, but to the standard of the rest in the trailer. And as that’s the lead specifically, that’s really off.
I have to say my biggest impression from the trailer is that whenever the main character spoke I was wondering if it was a placeholder take--it didn’t mesh with anything else. I obviously don’t have enough exposure to the game to have any opinion about the character, but that seemed bad enough.
That’s all definitely true—without rehashing too much, it’s so obviously true that I don’t get how the article is making an “excellent point” so I expected more. Here’s a sp game that made a lot and here’s a list of other sp games that made a lot, make some more is otherwise a shrug of a point out of me. That’s…
Do comparisons to pay parity in the NBA really generate so many clicks to make this argumentation worthwhile? Why not compare percentage of revenue instead or some other metric? It feels like its inviting dismissal when a an industry that doesn’t reach a hundred million doesn’t have the salary parity with one that…
I’m a fan of single player games, even if Elden Ring isn’t my thing, so I feel like this post is supposed to be speaking to me, but do you think publishers don’t know? I mean they must, since all the examples you give are, well, games that were published.
Oh, absolutely. But it might be “cheaper”—it’s already happening in book publishing.
I’m a little surprised that Viz hasn’t resorted to machine translation, and then a cleanup job by an editor or a translator, though I’d like to think that a company that works exclusively in translation (the US branch of Viz I mean), understands and respects what translation entails to not do that (yet). Then again, I…
I think other people have commented my main reaction—that in the urge to see more queer relationships I’d like for there to be more room for non-sexualized relationships in general. I will say I recognize that desire from the history that leaves a vacuum of queer individuals from erasure or pointedly, sheer lack of…
As mentioned elsewhere, this is prep for Young Avengers, and like most the MCU’s ideas, remixed storylines from the comic—though Quantummania itself seems an original storyline remixed in rather than the usual much more derivative version. Possibly I don’t know Ant-man storylines enough, this is just me piping with…
How full is it of other stuff is my question? Mind, I preordered it (yeahyeah, I know) so I’ll find out soon enough. I like less than Yakuza 0 but more than Kiwami in terms of stuff.
I wonder if I blink one eye, does it count as a full blink or can you trick the eye tracking?
Huh--mercurial boundary is the bit I understand better. The bounds of what an actor is and isn’t asked to do/willing to do moves. Because they change, because norms or morals change, because coworkers are different, etc.
I didn’t mind it either actually, explanation wise—it was more that it felt like a consequenceless magic from the beginning. It’s been a minute, but I swear that people would care about accidentally wrecking devastation in a foreign country more, but it was mostly blah by the movie. After the revelation, someone…
