I do not envy recappers for this show. Like Boardwalk Empire before it, this shit is going to be pointless to try and review until the season's pretty much over and just going to make all the early reviews look kinda pointless.
Plinkett is not a review, but a parody of a film essay that's also semi-serious. The RLM review of the movie was actually released around the time of the movie in their movie review show, Half in the Bag.
I actually think the show is moving quite a bit faster than other Marvel series. The opening action that kicked off the plot was pretty much resolved by the third episode.
I'm six episodes into the show, and so far I think it's entertaining enough. And it's a fairly honest take on the blaxploitation genre in a lot of ways, for better and for worse.
The one two punch of Leslie Jordan and Kathy Bates really lifted this particular episode for me. Everything built around those two characters was great.
