Teams is the IM to beat for business users. You can argue that’s because they are leveraging their O365 customer base and packaging it (and that is definitely a large reason), but that means a ton of people are using it. However, Teams cannot compete in the consumer space, hence this Discord purchase.

Compared to Slack and Discord, Teams doesn’t stack up at all.

Teams is fine. Our department has been using it for the past year. Zoom, on the other hand, is fucking garbage.

“ It mostly works. How much more can we really expect?”

The PSVR is pretty much outselling any other VR headset on the market. It reached 5 million units sold which is pretty big feat for this kind of tech.

A lot of people were waiting for a second version once the tech was more “solid”. So it wouldn’t surprise me if “PSVR2" quickly outsold its predecessor.

Like other similar controllers, they’re probably covered with tiny infrared LEDs for tracking.

No fan service and no incest explains why it’s good for a shonen anime, but that doesn’t quite explain why it’s the highest grossing film in Japanese history.  I mean this looks good, and I’ll probably watch the movie after I start watching the series, but it does seem weird that it’s that much more popular in Japan

The blog post states “The first thing you’ll notice with our next-gen VR controller is the unique design, which takes on an “orb” shape that allows you to hold the controller naturally, while playing with a high degree of freedom. There are no constraints with how you’re moving your hands, providing developers with

Whaaat are you even talking about? These are a thousand times better than the original Move controllers.

Have you seen the series?

I think sockem boppers is preferable to glowy dildo

That’s both cool because, hey, tech is mature now, we all know what it is, and discouraging because... well, clearly nobody wants it and it’s still cumbersome and inconvenient.

I think many people want it but they have been waiting for the costs and the benefits to hit a point when it’s not just an expensive novelty. As capabilities of tech go up and costs go down, interest increases. If they price this low enough it could be a real boost in VR interest as I’m sure the capabilities will

attach rate isn’t a factor unless you over produced the product. if they only made 5 million units then they made a nice profit on it especially from a first foray into the space. looking at the rest of the VR market 5 million sales puts it in line with the Oculus Quest as far as success goes. though I think it’s

I’m not sure “nobody wants it”.  Didn’t Sony sell 5 million+ PSVR last gen? It’s expensive, and requires additional hardware beyond just the VR. I think that’s much more of a barrier than anything else. But there’s clearly a market for it, hence this article.

Every single predatory gambling game gives you a few rolls for free.

Just like the vast majority of loot boxes are purely cosmetic, the vast majority of games that include a loot box mechanic give you a way to unlock them for free.

Buying accelerators to hatch eggs is like buying keys to open lootboxes. It’s much of a muchness.

Are you paying money for a random chance at getting something you want? That’s a lootbox, end of story.

Very bad take.
