This is like the opposite of the last car I bought. I called the credit union and they told me to just do it all through the dealer because the dealer can search for best available rate. I was like “WTF”.

Fair enough. I think living out of a suitcase and being on the road for ~65 days out of 365 days has just made me immune to most risks of traveling. :)
This needs more stars. I wonder if it also applies to civilian contractors?
I’m not criticizing when I say this, so please don’t take it as such. I am genuinely curious to hear if there were any specific events that led to you taking these extra steps or if it is just in your nature. I can tell you from experience that everything changes once you start traveling every week - you start being…
This. So much this. I used to be a frequent traveler and I practically did a jig the day I noticed Delta had introduced Apple Wallet support.
I feel like I should comment on this article due to the name I have on Kinja, but I really have nothing of interest to say.
Was really hoping this article would be about Pastor Maldonado.
I wonder: did they all migrate somewhere else now or is it just that the car scene is dying? I’ve seen a few “heavy” nights, but nothing like what you described. :)
Yeah. The Berlin Turnpike. I’ve found that it’s not too, too bad most of the time - I’m in my upper 30's and married, so I was back home with the wife before it got too late for things to get too out of hand I think. I moved here in 2014 so I don’t know what it was like back in the day, but it sounds like it was…
I drive an STI and used to live right off the Turnpike. My biggest fear was getting caught in a pack of idiot race boys and having the cops try to loop me in just because of the car I drive. I’m not sure even a dash cam could help me there.
“...which built the first diverging diamond in the country in 2014...”
I don’t have anything relevant to add other than to say that so far the Jalopnik movie club has yet to post up a movie that I don’t have in my DVD/Blu-Ray collection. It’s nice to feel validated in my choice in movies. :)
Oh yeah. Expected and accepted are definitely two different things. :)
Even worse. When I was buying my STI, I made an appointment first and expressed that I wanted to test drive. I show up after work, and the salesman isn’t ready. No biggie. He has to finish up with another customer - I know it’s hard to time box a sales encounter. After about 20 minutes of waiting, he comes over. We go…
Depends on what kind of bar Rich’s is, to be honest. Many years ago myself and a lady friend met her gay friend at a gay bar in that was showing porn on the TVs. When some dude grabbed my ass I just kind of shrugged it off figuring that kind of behaviour should be expected at a bar showing gay porn on the TVs.
This literally made me laugh out loud.
I once had some road raging asshole in an F150 try to put me into a median wall at 70MPH. I only wish he’d gotten this sort of karma that night. Instead he ended up trying to follow me home until I lost him and hid in a police station parking lot. Fucking rednecks.
Glad I’m not the only one who remembered this.
Haha. Yeah, I was just being silly.
Because it’s British?
