Winter and rain gear can get pretty expensive. Leather riding suits are expensive. Basic textile or mesh gear can be had for less than $500 certainly. If you’re going to buy a cheap helmet, at least get HJC. Don’t buy a Bilt helmet.

As a trans person, I cannot imagine desiring to use the gender-conforming locker room. I would have been perfectly happy in single use bathroom.
