I wanted her to remove the bonnet, too. “You can’t drive like that! You hav no peripheral vision!”

Hmm...it doesn’t read that way at all on my tv. Maybe it’s your color/brightness settings.

Oh, yeah. I think June said something about the kids, but didn’t note their clothing, like it wasn’t at all unusual.

John Hamm wisdom a waiter at Cardwells’s in the 90's? I wonder if he ever waited on me? Probably not, but I’ll tell myself he definitely was.

Made some cold asparagus and leek soup the other day. Fabulous. The recipe called for yogurt, and I also added some buttermilk to thin it and and a healthy dose of lemon juice. Garnished it with a drizzle of lemon oil and fresh basil. Really nice if you want to do something a little different with asparagus.

Awww...:)

I totally understand what your saying, but there is an undercurrent of hope in the show that keeps the darkness from feeling overwhelming. If you ever wanted to check it out....it really is quite good.

Fuck you and your shithole attitude. Nashville is a nice town, but St. Louis is a great city with a 50-year hockey history and many devoted fans.

Ahh...much better.

I don’t find it unabashedly depressing. It’s grim, certainly. Very grim. But there’s just enough of an undercurrent of hope to keep you...and Offred...going.

Starred cause I just love that sentence.

I’m actually really surprised by the description of that cake. It sounds very delicious and very sophisticated...and very not-Elvis.

You have no idea how weirdly appealing that is to me.

Yes, please. I did a sous vide duck (like you, I was only able to find a whole, frozen duck and had to thaw it and hack the damn thing into pieces) for New Year’s Eve and overall it was quite good, though I have to say the confit legs kicked the ass of the breast meat.

Lots of these in the South and Midwest.

Damn, those look good. I moved away 5 years ago, and though I’ve been back many times, I haven’t managed to fit t-ravs into my hometown eating frenzy. I’m too full of Mom’s Specials and Cardinal Sin sundaes.

I love it.

The hot brown is a delicious concoction. I’d heard of it before moving to Louisville, but had never tried it. It’s stupid-good, and easy to make at home. As a native St. Louisan, though, I missed toasted ravioli. Soooo tasty.

Totally thought it was hair...like ‘I’m gonna snatch the hair right off your head, bitch.’ But, yeah...probably a net.

Yes, yes, yes. When I get a text or VM along the lines of, ‘I need to talk to you. Call me later.’ I lose my mind worrying it’s bad news. I can think of nothing else until I have resolution. I know I’m being ridiculous, but that doesn’t change the way I feel.
