It was boring. First few eps built a great mood, but as it wore on there were long episodes with nothing much happening, dull inessential conversations. The one with the lady cop getting interviewed was interminable, the very definition of inessential viewing, padding the show out for the sake of it.

That's exactly what I thought. I wasn't confused. The BIG clue in terms of theme is in the film's title. Of course it was all jumbled up in my dumb head as a feeling, the internet said it better

Good gig?

Great live band. Saw an incredible gig in Japan in early 2000s called, amusingly, Canada Dreaming. DFA 1979, Stars, Metric, The Dears, BSS. The energy just kept building and building, and it was a great venue, about 1500 people with really good sound. Saw em a year or so later in Australia in a tiny venue that only
