So Toyota can make 250hp turbocharged hot hatch without join-hands with other carmaker, but they can’t give us 250hp turbocharged Toyota 86 ?
Also seeing this car in high demand, then I’m sure there will be a demand for turbocharged Toyota 86

Ssssstttt, you gonna upset FnF fanbois because for them Skyline has died and R34 is the last legacy
so basically tell me again why the hell Toyota won’t make Turbo 86 or their own Supra FT-1 ??
setting M4's fugly front aside, IMO that M4 CS G82 is the closest things to Nissan Skyline GT-R Z-Tune R34 that you can still buy brand new (even closer if there’s manual and xDrive AWD as options). And it’s probably still cost less than 100k USD even after you tick several options
Nissan (Nismo to be exact) recently…
Skyline GT-R R34 will take the crown for me
just as how I reply to post of some user above, it’s just a japanese 3-series that’s available in various bodystyle (sedan, coupe, wagon) and various trim (GT, GT-T, GT-Four and GT-R)
sure, it’s very capable in its era that its euro competitor BMW M3 E46 is pale compare to it…
Honestly I can’t understand why Toyota Alphard / Vellfire is not selling in USA. It’s much more luxurious than say, Honda Odyssey
I admit I prefer Sportcar, Supercar or Coupe (a real 2-door coupe, not obnoxious 4-door coupe or even coupe suv) BUT unless the road is totally rubbish and you need very high-ground…
Remember, tesla don’t really care about “you buying used Tesla car” unless it’s very profitable for them
I still don’t understand why don’t they just use FA20T ?
Look, when 86 came out at 2012, my first thinking is not S2000 alternative but Silvia Spec R S15 alternative
If Nissan can make 2.o Turbo 250hp cheap small Sportcar at 2000 then so does Toyota / Subaru
Literally the best car at its class since 2000 up till now
perhaps BMW need to learn one or two from Nissan at 2000 since R34 still look lit AF and fresh compare to E46, E92, F32 / G82 and latest G22 / G82
probably out of topic, but I don’t know the reason why BMW M3 E46 is depreciating compare to its japanese rival of same era, Nissan Skyline GT-R R34
Yes brand new Skyline GT-R R34 is more expensive at that time but still, not losing a single value and even appreciating as if it’s made of Tesla Stock while M3 E46 are…
I really really do wish they they make BRZ as second coming of Silvia Spec R S15 instead of S2000
250 Hp turbocharged engine is easy since Silvia S15 did that 15 years ago and it will solve the known torque-dip problem. Hell they actually can just put 300hp++ from WRX STi though they will never do that things that…
of course No, I blew my chance pretty bad when it’s still affordable
here’s perspective of it, a most expensive R34 which is Skyline GT-R R34 Z-Tune at 2004 which cost 150k USD brand new (which is very expensive for just a Nissan) now worth between 500k - 1m USD.
Even if you use the least expensive non-Nur most-common…
Your grandfather probably should own Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 then
- It worth twice the original price and still going up till now
- It’s reliable for DD
- It’s even more fun dan M3 and M5 from the same era
The best car to invest in ?
“Nissan Skyline GT-R R34" there I answer it for you
- It’s reliable DD
- It’s powerful
- It’s cheap to maintain
- It has low insurance and tax
- It will keep rising in price just like how Tesla stock perform and will tend to go higher till 2025
This is why the smarter one bought Skyline GT-R R34 instead M3 E46 or M5 E60 at that era
More fun + more reliable + better for DD + won’t leave you stranded + if you decide to sell it will worth more than 2 times the original sticker price when new which is basically similar to Tesla stock and it will keep rising till…
“I just want a lightweight, RWD, manual Sportscar that reliable, lower than civic running cost, and just under 20k USD brand new along with bumper-to-bumper warranty for 5 years”
there, I fixed it for you
one of the best Benz ever made is SL73 AMG
What’s wrong with you Toyota ?
You can gave Yaris a Turbo engine but can’t give 86 one ?
After I read this article, I feel that those people who bought Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 are totally almost as genius as elon musk, here’s why :
1. It’s affordable when brand new
2. It’s reliable and never leave you stranded
3. It’s cheap to maintain
4. It’s still good even for starting-family car since it’s coupe that…
