As someone with a mother, sister, wife, and daughter, I’m glad that people have the ability to “narc” on their “neighbors”. Anyone who’s ever spent ten seconds talking to a rape victim would do anything they could to be able to prevent what happened to them. That’s something this can do, help prevent future crimes.

The difference here is that you can opt out of contributing to the surveillance network. Once you own a property, your opinion may change. Its kind of incredible how many weirdos there are out there these days stealing and vandalizing.

Right? What kind of journalist writes a pro-criminal article? Does she break into cars sometimes and is upset ring could be cramping her style?

It was a rewards program that helped people report and convict criminals, not snitch in neighbors. Maybe you need a Xanax for that paranoia issue. Lol.

Someone peeping into car windows is likely not up to anything good... I’d be happy to see that reported in Ring's Neighbors app.

Reporting suspicious activity like “people walking down the street looking into cars” is not “narcing on your neighbors”

This article is way off base. Whom ever wrote this is obviously bias to non-facts. Additionally, this person does not sound like someone that lives in East Bay California where neighborhood crime is real and the government is turning it’s head with no action. Violent assualts, guns, robbery, forced entry, rapes,

Wait, reporting crimes or suspicious activity is a BAD thing according to this author? Really?!

All the 20 something kids hate the police until their iPhone gets stolen. Everyone loooooves a social band wagon these days.

EEXACTLY!! Alyse writes an article about Ring’s attempt at crime prevention and immediately associates crime with “people of color.” Then she states a federal study that purportedly proves that people of color commit the majority of crimes.  That’s extraordinarily RACIST. ALL people of ALL colors commit crimes.... not

Anybody on or in public view from my property has zero right to privacy. And, am I supposed NOT report suspicious or illegal activity to the police? That’s absurd. Far better I share with the police what I know and let them handle it than to take matters into my own hands.

You are slanting so much of this article it looks italicized. So ring has a test program in 2017? Omg! So they released it without awards? Omg! The only thing I’ve seen in the past 6 months reported on mine was some drunk that side swiped cars in the neighborhood ( does this pass your woke, could hurt people of color,

Meeting these goals would net the informant tiered Ring perks as if directing police scrutiny was a rewards program and not an act that can threaten people’s lives, particularly people of color.”

This this is supposed to be a technology publication, correct? Then how are their authors so completely idiotic, or intentionally misleading about technology? I have a Ring. The only way the cops are going to get their hands on the video is if I send it to them or post in the neighbors app. That is, I voluntarily give

I hate how people raise nonexistent privacy concerns.  If you come onto my property and trigger my Ring, you've given up your right to privacy and I have every right to share my footage with law enforcement.  I get liberal shamed on Ring for sharing footage of some vagrant scoping out my house? In many cases, the same

I don’t see anything in this article about Ring asking people to “narc on their neighbors”

Wow, I guess this 40+ suburban dad needs to dump his G35 so he can graduate from community college.

You sound like every WRX driver, ever.

No. Only the early 03-04 had minor alignment issues, and the 05-07 manuals had OC, but that wasn’t all that widespread. The 37 has no major or even minor problems that are widespread save for some coupes getting water in the backseat under heavy rains, and that is an easily fixed issue. My 08 coupe had zero issues and

I’d love a G37. As it’s known around here, I’m an Infiniti aficionado. I’m on my second right now. The VQ engine is awesome. They’re comfortable, sporty, and luxurious without trying too hard.
