By far the biggest fault of American Idiot was the bloated production. The album sounded extremely dated when it was released, if that's possible. I don't have any issue with the concept, but the lack of execution, and extreme level of gloss going on here just sounds terrible.

I disagree. Just listened to Dookie for the probably the first time this century, and it's still a fresh, fun album. Much less dated than crap of its time period like Live, Bush and the like.

Agree on Zooropa. It's one of my favorite U2 albums. The Foos/Creed comparison is unfair though. The Foos weren't anything groundbreaking or anything, but you can't take 'Everlong' from them.

Don't think so. Zooropa was (and is) criminally underrated. Still holds up.
