Why wouldn't it? The only difference between a DI engine and a PI engine is the location of the fuel injector. In fact, DI engines need an oil catch can even more, because the lack of fuel in the intake tract means it gets a heluva lot dirtier in there.

The E-2C is the Navy's AWACS, and contains just as much functionality of the [Boeing 707-based] E-6 in a platform a quarter of the size. Also, ours lands and takes off from carriers.
