It’s pretty horrifying in part because it was perpetrated by someone she loved and trusted. What a horrible betrayal. A shame she wasn’t his first born son.

It’s just a thing that show writers do. It’s like showing a beautiful scene of someone enjoying sex with their partner, or for example of Sansa, near naked, in a tub and then the next scene showing her violated. Shows like to put two opposing scenes next to each other to try to pack a punch or highlight a difference…
How many times did you read about people being flayed alive? How many times was Bronn tossed out of a tower? How many times did all these individual events happen? Once, maybe twice? How many times was Jaime’s hand cut off? Or Reek castrated? Even if this show had one or two OR EVEN THREE instances of horrifying,…
Because some viewers and readers approach story telling with critical thinking skills and don’t set their minds on autopilot based on what “we’re supposed to believe these people would do”.
So if it’s not a plot device than the inclusion of countless rape after rape is just scenery dressing?
Why is her/his point infantile?
Approaching a work of fiction with intelligent questions about both the story structure and the narrative style is not demeaning. Why are you being so hyperbolic? Plenty of posters and viewers can question the show without being “children”.
At this point I’ve thrown my hands in the air and decided that this dude just likes to write fantasy novels with a lot of rape and torture of women and children. Some writers just enjoy writing those multiple types of scenes and some readers like the ambiance that kind of thing it creates. Like people reading pulp…

Not before she’s raped while posing as a child prostitute.
It’s ok to have emotional responses to fiction. Isn’t that what makes the series compelling? It’s not like watching an Aston Kutcher sitcom. Emotional responses are also really appreciate by authors. Besides, it adds to the dialogue, too.
Seriously? Why does it have to be a competition of which is worse? Is that how your mind works?
Same. Look at those muscles, too. Really shows that this is a strong athlete.
I’m talking about the whole milieu of mental health treatment and when you can get the school counselor on board along with community mental health, there are things that people can manage to afford do besides humiliating his/her child like this. He didn’t do this because he couldn’t find a counselor.
How is that figure even possible? I don’t get it.
Some of us are stuck in the greys and don’t know how to get out. It’s like some weird...kinja limbo.
It’s really a great place to be. Just be as aware as you would be in any other city. Try some meetups to find kindred spirits. Although I’d be a hermit in NY at this time of the year too...the heat...
