Here’s a shot of the area during construction:
BTW did anyone else remember that this was the car that Christopher got from Johnny Sack in the Sopranos ? (And then had to relinquish to the Feds.)
Let’s see: Crappy Transmission, 90K on finicky Italian Mechanicals and Electronics, different interior, flood damage title, and the killing piece - Florida ? maybe take a $3-6K chance, but not a hit off that $10K CP.
Speaking of OJ, why wasn’t the location of the Bronco made a bigger deal? If he is innocent, then the Bronco is found inside the compound. If he’s guilty, then the Bronco was where the Police found it, parked outside on the curb.
FWIW, I had a 2006 Mazda 5. Drove it until 160K, would still have it if I needed 2 cars. Great Car, handling, room, holds 6. Not that quiet though, as the insulation and height of the car dictate a certain amount of noise.
The most logical place is one that lends itself to rocking the car when stuck in snow or sand. Down to the right or left would best do that.
I’m not a CPA, so you should verify this with whomever does your taxes. My understanding is that if you donate the car to a Charity, and they just sell it or dispose of it at auction, you only reap the return from that transaction.
Per the columnist Russell Baker, he had a hard time paying more than $7,000 for a car, which was the price of the house he grew up in. Using that as a gauge, I’d have a hard time paying over $25K. Which, due to the magic of depreciation, I’ve never had to.
These guys must be asleep at their desks! A couple of years ago, I saw a White 350Z with PA plates that said: EATATHEY .
Here’s a good time for a question: If you were TVR, and you’d like to create 4 new Sports Cars, while doing your best to not overlap their market segments, how would you do it? What Engines would you develop / purchase for your car?
Wow! I had no idea that things were so bad out there. In reading this, I scoured my memory for anyone who had a similar Mothering Experience as posted, and luckily couldn’t find anyone. My own Mother was always supportive, without being smothering. And the same goes for the Mothers of my friends as well. So without…
Several issues going on here:
What I’ve been doing when told by the local Cheap Oil Change place about a “Problem” is tell them back: “Yes, you’re right, it’s really important to take care of X, Y, & Z. Please write it all down, so I can take the list to my ‘Regular Guy’”
I usually tell people to go the website and configure a car with the Bare Minimum of options.
Unfortunately I wonder how long it'll be until some Attorney is engaged by a family to sue Chrysler for putting out a car with such Dangerous Potential? I really doubt that the Hellcat will last more than a year or two on that basis.
Probably already mentioned, but I imagine a totally base Civic or Mazda 3 will come with enough kit to be worthwhile. Not to mention that their eventual 2nd owner will want a simpler vehicle as well.
It was mentioned, but nobody showed the VW 411: http://bit.ly/103fKq0
Was the goal here to attain that elusive 100% Crack Pipe response?
Man, you stole my Thunder. For some reason, as I've grown older, I've appreciated them more and more. What a great American competitor for BMW, make it fast with an Inline 6, or 8, and comfortable ride.
