i know this is meant to be a smug “you caused trump,” but if the author lives in nyc (and I think he does!), then he had absolutely no influence on the election at all. she already won the popular vote. she already (almost certainly) won the district in which the author would be voting.
 

I went to KU, and I can assure you that they weren’t suspended for skipping class or breaking curfew.
