I was thinking the same thing! Glad there weren't any magnified ants in the pictures.

I skipped a very large section in the front discussing the various incarnations and starts and stops on his autobiography, but once I've gotten into Twain's actual writing, it's pretty entertaining.

This is great! I've been slowly going through his autobiography that was released not too long ago, and I'd forgotten how much I love his writing. Nothing is too serious — you can just see how amused he was with himself when he wrote this out. I wonder if his own children inspired this little advice book?

They do look kind of like extra storage space.

Yes! All the cute boys' clothes ended when my son no longer fit in those cute overalls and onesie sets. The girls' section is usually twice the size of the boys'.

I remember years ago National Geographic (I think it was them) recreated the cologne/perfume used by Napoleon, I think Marie Antoinette, and someone else, I can't remember. Napoleon's smelled really nice.

I'm in SW Ohio, and everyone has been complaining about the heat. I do love the heat and don't mind just sweating and marinating in the sun. Plus, we've had very little rain lately, so I've been able to make it to the community pool almost every evening after work. This is also great weather to go out to the woods and

Me too! It's always the pretty ones that are so dangerous.

I don't get it either. If conservatives would like to reduce the number of abortions that are performed, the logical means to that is to educate men and women (and adolescents) and make contraceptives easily available and affordable. It isn't that hard.

I can only hope that one day in the not-too-distant future we'll look back at the wave of Planned Parenthood defunding like we do at the Salem witch trials — relief that we don't do that shit now, shock at how terrible people really can be and with a better understanding of the effects of rye mold and

I really can't believe that Republicans/Tea Party people are more interested in Bachmann over Romney. Even my mother, who is a crazy-train conservative, was complaining about getting calls from Bachmann's campaign because Bachmann is way too right-wing for my mom. The people they are polling have to be trolling or

Ugh, I hate ticks. Once I find one on me, I freak out for the rest of the day that there are hidden ticks in places I'll never be able to find them, like my hair.

Maybe there isn't enough biodiversity with asexual reproduction?

Woe betide the country with bigot import numbers rising.

There are other groups out there that to which I can donate money that can help without having to buy shoes from TOMS.

I've never understood how these things get started. And then, once you come up with this plan, how exactly do you get people to invest in something? What was the sales pitch? Investing in some plan that will bring you untold amounts of return just seems so silly. Didn't anyone actually go visit the dairy and ask

I really hate it when "female" is used instead of "woman." It's kind of dehumanizing, really, reducing someone down to just a sex rather than a personhood.

There are probably actual books out there too about weird deaths, but those are some good ones.

Yes! This was so awesome, I'm not gonna lie. I taped them all and watched them over and over.

It's like they start boxing that shit as soon as you look at it.
