You know what’s the most punk thing you can do? Go from being part of a hacker collective and punk rock band to becoming a clean-cut center-right Democrat who actively throws the left under the bus in policy, takes fossil fuel money even when promising not to do that, and remaking yourself as progressive in time for

The fact that nice, church going older black ladies lock stepped for “super predator” labeling Hillary is almost as weird to me as union members who vote for republicans. Hillary would have been much better than Trump but that is the lowest bar in American political history.

“Sanders isn’t the absolute, 100%, perfect candidate ever ...

There is another article up today asking why the left is failing. This article is why. Like him or loathe him, Sanders did more to energize the voting left than anyone else has done recently.

She was given unprecendent access a year before the nomination. Veto power over the staff, debate scheduals and numbers, any communication memeo within the DNC, the ability to datamine who should be on the rolls, the ability to get money from donors that have maxed out to HRC, ostensibly for the DNC and state parties,

This agreement giving the Hillary Victory Fund control over the DNC messaging, strategy, and spending went into effect on Sept 1, 2015.

I often wonder much someone that ruthless could’ve gotten done if she had been president, but Clinton’s fundamental problem is that she is a truly terrible campaigner. I mean like incredibly, all-time awful.

Wait, Democrats were banking on Libertarians to vote for them? Holy shit, a strategy dumber than the one they actually used!

No

kids will starve, women will lose their reproductive rights, and the wage disparity will just grow

This argument is losing steam. The Dems are just as bad as the GOP once you get down to brass tacks. Yes, I totally agree that for social issues, the Dems have targeted a specific set of social issues to get votes from a specific coalition of voters. The actual candidates don’t really care one way or the other....

Democrats in general are GOP in disguise. They spent the last thirty years turning into Rockefeller Republicans, which is still not as bad as what the GOP did, which was spend the last thirty years eating lead paint chips and cozying up to Jesus freaks.

Cuomo is just GOP in disguise. The whole party needs a do-over.

I hate to break it to you but 90% of the DNC is like him. Corruption via corporate interests have been infiltrating the democratic party for decades now, and they love weasely little assholes like Cuomo.

Cuomo has a counterpart in IL in Rahm Emanuel. Both are assholes and need to be replaced with better progressive democrats in their next elections.

I moved two blocks from the LA Times, almost 13 years ago. Lived above the only viable restaurant/bar in Downtown, so I met a bunch of the editors, as they love[d] to drink (the bar had $2 pints of PBR, among other things).

Another fun fact about T.J. Simers: he never graduated college. Can you imagine anyone dropping out of college today winning $1.8 million for future economic damages?

Good grief, does anyone realize why old media is dead. Quarter million a year to write stuff that only geriatrics read. Play a game going to work tomorrow and look for anyone under 30 holding (not reading) a paper. They dont exist.

Lol. Simmers and Plaschke are why I stopped reading the Times years ago. Asshat hack grumpy old boomers. Hopefully they’ll both move to the Register and disappear forever...
