I watch shows for their entertainment value, not for their realism.

I actually liked season 5 and I thought Lumen and Chase were interesting characters.  My main complaint is that they waited a whole extra season to do the reveal to Deb of Dexter as a killer, when they had the perfect segue into it at the end of season 5.

What about 24's CTU's HR department when it comes to background checks of their employees?  It seemed like a good 10% of the employees there were moles/double-agents.

I don't think so.  Just don't buy the S8 DVD's, and next time you're in the mood to watch some Dexter pop in season 2 or 4 or whatever, and enjoy them for what they were.

While I share the sentiment that season 8 could have been done a lot better, Dexter still is a special show, which is why I can't join in on hating on it.

I think even S6 and S8 of Dexter are better than The Following, yet I still enjoyed watching The Following.  But I wasn't trying to compare The Following to Hannibal, nor was I going out of my way to find flaws with it.
