She was mostly there for eye candy, just look at how well she carried herself in those dresses she wore.
Yeah an F could have made sense if it was too boring to watch, if there was no emotional pull whatsoever, if nothing got resolved.
Yes, it seems like the actual message of the finale went over Joshua's head.
Yeah, I was okay with him hating on the show, I kind of expect it now with the whole anti-dexter circle-jerk in light of all the BB fanboys being unable to compartmentalize their tv viewing habits to appreciate any other shows.
Damn Joshua, it sounds like you're in the midst of a nasty divorce with someone in the writer's room and are abusing your position at AV Club to lash out at her.
I just want to point out…most people enjoyed season 2, right?
…on the plus side, i've managed to avoid getting spoiled for GoT, of which I've only seen the first episode. lol
What did I say that you considered a personal insult? I certainly didn't intend to insult you.
I watch shows for their entertainment value, not for their realism.
I actually liked season 5 and I thought Lumen and Chase were interesting characters. My main complaint is that they waited a whole extra season to do the reveal to Deb of Dexter as a killer, when they had the perfect segue into it at the end of season 5.
wow. so you can't ever enjoy watching the first movie of a series where you think that the sequels suck?
…because 60 episodes of a 42 minute show is fair to compare to 95 episodes of a 60 minute show? I'll pass.
no, are you?
Legitimate "angst and criticism" I can understand. Even perhaps feeling a bit of betrayal or whatever.
I would actually watch a spinoff with Elway and Masuka's daughter.
What about 24's CTU's HR department when it comes to background checks of their employees? It seemed like a good 10% of the employees there were moles/double-agents.
I don't think so. Just don't buy the S8 DVD's, and next time you're in the mood to watch some Dexter pop in season 2 or 4 or whatever, and enjoy them for what they were.
While I share the sentiment that season 8 could have been done a lot better, Dexter still is a special show, which is why I can't join in on hating on it.
I think even S6 and S8 of Dexter are better than The Following, yet I still enjoyed watching The Following. But I wasn't trying to compare The Following to Hannibal, nor was I going out of my way to find flaws with it.
