I like their wings.
I like their wings.
I know this is unpopular, but we need to bring back forced institutionalization. These people are not capable of making rational decisions. In fact, they are so incapable of it that the state is saying he won’t have to stand trial for murder. So if a person is that far-gone, why are we waiting until after he commits…
If there’s one genre that deserves the benefit of the doubt when it comes to containing misogynistic lyrical content: it’s definitely hip-hop.
I made a comment to my wife this morning that Lochte reminds me of Dennis.
I mean, it’s sort of still bragging.
Short of lighting up a heater on the podium while wearing mirrored aviators, I think she’s been as bad ass as possible.
You kind of need to separate Twitch from the situation she’s describing.
What’s wrong with the “there’s no crying in baseball, but there’s plenty of wine” line? That shit’s funny.
I mean, it’s crucial to you because you want to be able to judge without being labeled an asshole while at the same time call other people assholes for doing the same kind of judging.
I understand what you’re saying, I just disagree that the distinction is significant because the judgement is effectively the same. Go back to my hypothetical about being offended by your original response - the only reason you’d call into question my sincerity is because you knew your response wasn’t offensive to any…
“It comes down to whether or not I actually suspect that you’re claiming that you’re offended insincerely or manipulatively.” Agreed! You’re doing exactly what I’m advocating - making a judgement about someone’s claim that they’re offended and determining if it’s valid or not. I think that’s a very normal thing to do…
Don’t apologize, that was well written and I was happy to read it.
Honestly asking, do you think that all feelings of offense are legit regardless of intent, context and severity? I ask because when people complain about PC culture, they’re attacking the idea that being offended or hurt automatically makes them correct. I feel like it’s reduced our ability to make judgements and I…
We are not far off from “mental health” being a catch all defense for any and all crimes.
No! We are not objectively wrong, we are objectively right in our opinion of them. They are a good pop rock band who struck a chord with a very specific group of people (generally born in between 1981-84, the sweet spot generation). Their first three albums still holds the test of time, from front to back. I still…
Springsteen has to crap out The River track for track for 47,5049 time that month.
What’s wrong with liking 3EB? They’ve got an excellent catalog of pop rock that has more than stood the test of time.
I was just at their show in PDX a few years back. The crowd had more young people (25 and below), in general, than I anticipated but I’d say most were between 29-42ish. They played a great mix of their old and new.
iknowright?
Correct. It’s kindling at that point.
