You want me to send $38,000 to another country and trust someone else to fill out the paperwork to buy a car that I can’t test drive or even touch. And the car in question is a 45 year-old VW featuring less power than a Honda Civic. And the car allegedly only accrued 2,200 miles per year on average.
$38 grand? Might as well be asking a brazilian dollars for it.
An aluminium V8 is about the same weight as the iron i6 and a turbo, and it’s farther back in the engine bay. Probably similar to the sr20 and it’s supporting mods too.
To correct one thing, this is not a granted patent. Rather, this is a patent application that recently published. According to the USPTO website, the application has not been examined yet.
From what this article says, I would side with Elon.
6th gear: Why does everybody become an economist when they are on the internet? Spouting off unqualified opinions and selling them as truth is exactly how we end up with anti-vaxxers and Bernie bros.
Maybe if Mazda actually had some power, it’d be a different story. I have a 2016 Mazda6 and while it’s very hard for any non-luxury car to compete with the 6 on handling, the lack of power just kills it for me. Great, thanks, now I’m seriously worried about other shit.
Was it a wise decision? It depends on whether you think a mining boom can continue unabated forever. It certainly wasn’t a wise decision to take the profits from that mining boom, under-tax them, and piss them away on middle-class welfare, but hey, that’s what the government did.
Again trotting out to defend the detestable policies of the current administration (I’m a quiet person, don’t frequently have much to say)...
The Australian economy seems to be based on ever-increasing house prices. The mining boom is largely over and the average wage is insanely high. Yes, the standard of living is good here (for the 1%) but the cost of it is astronomical. I find Sydney a more expensive city to live in than London.
I am blown away by how a country going forward, will depend on other politicians to provide basic things. Like cars, chicken and ketchup. IF a major war ever broke out, The roos are screwed.
