There’s this film I randomly keep catching on TV all over the world over many decades (most recently last year in 2022) called The Cassandra Crossing where the closer the train gets to the aforementioned crossing, the disaster gets more impending and the attenpts to stave it off gets most desperate.

So apparently absolutely no one working in Hollywood could figure out a way to just make a good movie with characters from previous movies?

As opposed to all the other sure fire ways it’s got going for it?

Of course that’s what it is. That’s the cycle now. Interviewer asks impossibly old person a question where the answer is pretty much a foregone conclusion and waits for the clicks to roll in. Then vultures like the AV Club throw up a link to said interview with a paragraph or two of withering condescension ladled over

EXACTLY! Every year or so I have to watch the same lame videos of really bad actors in obviously creepy scenes once again explain why I should not be a creep or molester and also, by the way, why I should not take or give bribes when I travel.

Well, he is 90, so we might want to imagine that we’re 90, we mention that we support trans rights, and then all the young people judge us for using such an outdated phrase to express support for something that everyone with a brain supports in the year 2080.

I’d like to know if AV Club writers really comb through every interview looking for things to pretend to be mad about (90-year-old man admits to being out-of-touch with current attitudes!) or if they have bots to do that for them.

I immediately clicked on the slide list to see which side of the Oscar debate you fell on. Sadly for you, it’s the WRONG side.

“I hope you’re never in the fucking position I’m in.”

That position being, refusing to protect yourself and others from a deadly pandemic, at the expense of your career, and then acting like YOU’RE the victim?

Thankfully, I will never be in the fucking position you’re in.

Honestly? No clue. But I do think we’re missing some info, and I don’t think current AV Club writers put in a responsible amount of research before they tell us to grab the pitchforks.

I can guarantee you that doctors do not want this medication removed because it causes little Timmy to no longer have bronchitis and need to be seen. Aside from the fact that your comment is ridiculous, doctors have zero motivation to remove a medication that helps patients.

They did what friends do. None of them said what he did was ok. They provided character references of their friend as they knew him. Thats what happens in criminal cases every single day throughout the country. The only difference is these got publicized.

I’ll never forget the massive letdown that is AV Club: The Kinja Years.

I think my grandpa was right that my generation couldn’t have taken Iwo Jima.

I think Bezos is further ahead in the Bond-villainy race:

These so called toxic workplaces just sound like workplaces from my experience.

i always think it’s weird when people invent reasons for people to not like something (coincidentally in a way that makes them look more enlightened for liking it) instead of accepting the very straightforward fact that maybe they just don’t like it.

The show has lots of obvious narrative issues that are really starting to plague every Disney+ Star Wars show except for Andor. The video game-inspired goal-based storytelling, characters having entire conversations that are only about the stakes of the plot, on-the-nose dialogue that lacks any nuance or ambiguity,

I was going to say, the night is young.
