You are describing poor grammar not legalese. Poor grammar is pervasive in all industries, especially journalism. I can spot a recent law school grad from a seasoned attorney a mile away. There is an eloquence to properly structured and rationalized legalese. 

Legalese has very acute definitions that trigger specific interpretations and analyses in judicial matters.

There are tons of open source image matching algorithms out there. Reddit making/implementing their own is even less than trivial. OPs right, Reddit doesn't care.

Chicago doesn’t have a thin crust. They are trying to rebrand away from the deep dish. Every city has thin crust tavern/party cut pizza. EVERY CITY! 

All the deep dish places will deliver unsliced. Before the "app", when you would order over the phone they would all ask if you wanted it uncut.
