Mets fan since ‘71, listened to the game today, and when Frazier hit his two-run home run in the 9th, I felt absolutely nothing. Not because it wasn’t a splendid moment, but because I knew — the way Spock knows that when he drops a hammer on a positive-gravity planet, he doesn’t have to see it fall to know that it has

If you think we’ve hit peak Mets, you haven’t been following long enough, before this season ends there will be a taxi incident, a player missing a game out partying, 10 more pressers of BVW saying, “this is fine”. Please hug David.

See you tomorrow, Mickey Callaway!

David and I have been emailing about this around of LOL, and I’m afraid, he might finally have lost it and walked off the face of the earth.

I’m speculating that Disney saw there was no big outcry when Gunn was hired for Suicide Squad (like what happened when Lasseter was hired by Skydance or Louis C.K. trying to do stand-up again) and decided they were in the clear to re-hire him.

Reminiscent of Palpatine’s Red Guard...

5 grand buys about a picosecond’s worth of ad time on an MLB broadcast.  It’s hilarious how much bad press it buys MLB.

Trying to describe a pinball game on the printed page is a fascinating writing challenge. No way in hell could I pull that off.

So we’re now on a path that leads, a century from now, to a  movie world where nobody will make a Batman movie because it’s too derivative of all the films that copied the Caped Crusader.

As someone that saw that movie in theaters, I remember that for years after its release it was considered a lesser Brooks movie. And sure, it’s not Young Frankenstein or Blazing Saddles, but it’s tons of fun and holds up really well.

essays are rife with basic mistakes about the history and culture of the United States

But half the population.

I think this is almost entirely a show put on for the media. Any GM unwilling to sign a perennial 6 WAR player who hasn’t even hit his prime yet because of one interview should be fired, and out of a cannon. But once some columnist makes a big deal out of it, suddenly everyone in baseball has to play along with this

To be fair, a prime Mike Morse at full speed would lose a footrace to a disinterested Eddie Gaedel.

Just Jared has set photos from Clark Gregg and Brie Larson’s recent reshoots on Captain Marvel.
