So our alien visitors got bored making circles in cornfields and have advanced to making geometrically-precise icebergs. Art is wonderful!

OT here: I thought it was both interesting and touching that Sandy Johnson (sister Judith in ‘78) and Jon-Erik Hexum & the cast of Voyagers!, glimpsed extremely briefly as the camera panned across a tv set, got screen credits at the end of the film. I don’t know if this was a decision on someone’s part or if it’s now

That Laurie would stay in a burning house to watch MM die is possible. That her daughter and granddaughter would allow her to remain in the burning house is inconceivable.

Yes, that was a very nice choice on their part. And kind of foreshadows that Laurie Strode can look (and be) quite dangerous.

They showed how easily the granddaughter climbed someone else’s iron fence, just before Boyfriend Wannabe got killed.

I just loved MM’s “reaction when, after he’s thrown Laurie Strode from the window and she vanishes, his body language as he looks around definitely showed to me his uneasiness at the knowledge that he — possibly for the first time in his life - is being stalked.

I got to see Blair Brown as the Bad Girl in “The Crucible” at the Guthrie in Minneapolis, back in the mid-70s, and I’ve had a crush on her ever since. :)

(Again, the replay official did not say West was “right.” The replay official only said that there was no conclusive proof West was wrong.)

Even as passengers.

Yours is a very moving and intelligent essay. Thank you for sharing it.

It should talk. There should be a string in the back, and when you pull the string, the lips move and the head talks.

I believe you’re right about that. A bust should have head, shoulders, and the upper chest. This is more like...I don’t know...a full-head death mask?

If they’ll just loan me the ship for five minutes...I just wanna time upstream and buy the dvd NOW.

It’s got a beat, and you can dance to it. I approve.

I agree. Canon, if we must have it — and I’m not convinced we do — should be a guideline, not a strait-jacket.

I feel that DC/Warner might be better served by serving up duos rather than singletons with the occasional Justice League. Flash plus Green Lantern. Zatanna and Atom. Doctor Fate and Black Canary. Buddy action-movies have a long history, and it might work us away from the idea that every movie has to be an origin

I guarantee that he’s already checked (or designed) his results, given that he comes from a worldview in which “one drop of black blood” makes you black.

“Piece of shit doesn’t like people calling him a piece of shit.” -- film at eleven.

I felt the same way when I read Dracula at 18, but a re-read a number of years later showed me quite a bit I missed the first time through. It’s a novel worth a re-read, now and again.

Actually, we’re all better than you. Get your shot.
