I got a 99 civic 9 years ago for $3200, I’ve had to fix things every now and then, but it has carried me from Phoenix to Western NY and back 4 times and from Phoenix to Charlotte. I got it with 141K miles and it just passed 350k a few weeks ago, I love that car. (wife hates it but that’s another story)

Fair, I’ve always had good outcomes with Hondas, so I’m biased, but I’m sure any Japanese econo-car would be fine. Moral of the story, if you just need a vehicle to get you from A to B, DON’T BUY A $21K TRUCK!

If you are in a jam and really need a car, go to craigslist, set max price to whatever you have in savings, and search “Honda” and be done with it.

That’s the worst part, it wasn’t even a new truck!
