You are right. His work is dripping with pathos, that's why it's not art to me. And not that funny either.

I don't share your assessment of his work. If we define successful only by monetary standards, then Ricky's career is an all-out success for everybody involved.
I prefer to not base my idea of the worth of a person solely on their wealth. My opinion about Ricky is: The Office was seminal. True greatness. The podcasts

Since the end of "Extras" Season 1, nothing he did really convinced comedically. It made some people a lot of money but that doesn't mean it was any good. He's phoning it in and the low brows lap it up.
