I understand that, but the article makes it sound like you can buy a fixed VW cheap AND get the $5000 rebate? That was my question. I popped the vin numbers into the VW claim website and it says they qualify, but I wasn’t sure you could get the $5k on a VW you purchased after the settlement.

If these have been fixed, would they still qualify for the $5000 rebate? I have a feeling they wouldn’t be grandfathered in.

I think manual transmissions can prevent a lot of this. I see people all the time braking for no reason, or over braking, causing traffic snakes and a domino effect of braking.
