Yet another reason they need to find a way to release Xenoblade Chronicles X on either Switch or a PC. (The latter because it can already be emulated fairly easily, so it’s not like the hardware isn’t capable.)

Just give Yahya Abdul-Mateen the damn role and call it a day. Someone else can play Wonder Man if that actually ends up getting made.

Quite the opposite. Noah wasn’t a household name here, but he was very well-known internationally, and had started to build a name here among comedy fans. He had also hosted a show in South Africa before, so he even had some relevant experience.

Honestly, I had high hopes for Wood, but I thought his guest hosting stint was a bit lackluster. Not bad, but not as knock-your-socks-off as I was expecting. If you take Minhaj (who was my pick too) out of the equation, Kal Penn seemed like the best of the guest hosts, at least in my opinion.

Make an excellent single-player game that keeps me engrossed for weeks, doesn’t have gacha systems or microtransactions or online requirements, or way too much DLC that should have been included in the game itself, and is made by unionized workers, and I’ll pay $100 per game. Given inflation and increased production

Honestly, it has become one of my go-to idle-watching shows (as it has for many), and it’s almost entirely because of the characters. I’ve never been a big cringe comedy fan, but I love the hangout feel with the character I watched for years. I’d be skeptical bringing them back, so a side-boot is probably the best

I mean, writers can write. Productions won’t be filming, but (a) I believe some of the non SAG-AFTRA-struck shows (like late-night comedy) can come back, and (b) writers can get to work on whatever, so that when the actors’ strike ends they have things to start filming immediately.

So Barsanti, the by-consensus worst hack on this site, is reviewing a series he seems determined to hate. Look, if Star Wars (and especially this era of it) isn’t your thing, then maybe go review something else? I don’t think too many people are watching this show that hate SW, so if you hate the show when it gets too

Respectfully disagree. That has been largely true since the mid-70s, but personally I love a lot of the deep cuts from early in their career, and their late 60s/early 70s peak had more great songs than not (Exile on Main St. being a front-to-back great album, with very little true filler). They are definitely

Honestly, they’ve always had great keyboard players guesting on their tracks. The only difference is that Elton John and Stevie Wonder are bigger names than Billy Preston or Nicky Hopkins or Ian McLagan. (Unfortunately, since none of those guys are available, I guess Stevie and Elton will have to do.)

I, too, was disappointed by this.

To be fair, Maher does not do disappointing things. One cannot be disappointed when the expectations are already zero.

Now playing

I’ve long been convinced that Fallon is essentially what would happen if Bobby Newport (Paul Rudd’s character in Parks & Rec) somehow got a TV show.

I likely would (with caveats depending on the price). I’ve been a nintendo loyalist since the SNES and buy them for the games, rather than the hardware. That said, the portability is a major advantage, and I’d probably be buying a lot more games if I can play them while on-the-go, even if I’d buy the hardware

My condolences. My grandfather passed from the same in 2004 (and I lost my dad to COVID in 2020). Nothing quite heals it, but it does get easier.

Aw shit, here we go again....

There’s a throwaway exhange in the first Men In Black film that I find myself thinking about often:

I’m torn between nostalgic excitement and a vague sense of cynicism and exhaustion.

Yup. And for decency’s sake I left out the details of her detention (if you google it enough you can probably find it), but it was awful just to hear about it from her, so I can only imagine how it must have felt. (Among other things, her family had no idea where she was, and was worried she was dead. Also, she was

I could be wrong, but I’d guess that using AI-generated effects shots and such would be copyrightable as transformative use. That’s just a guess, though (and one when I’m nodding off, so take it with a few grains of salt.)
