The three most important things you learn in law school:

Disney (entirely predictably) outmaneuvered the Douche Nozzle (heretofore known as “DN” for simplicity’s sake). DN’s cronies are now suing Disney, because they don’t think it’s fair that Disney was able to outmaneuver them when their entire purpose was to stop Disney from being able to do things. Disney is now

Summary Judgement Mountain

I’ve said it before, but when Disney’s lawyers are the good guys in a story, something has gone catastrophically wrong.

In my home state, we call that a “Christie.”

Speaking as a lawyer who grew up in what I can euphemistically call “Sopranos territory,” can confirm.

What, no “Mega Man X: Command Mission”?

Goddamn it. You made me curious enough to find that cover of “Under the Bridge” on YouTube, and now I can never forgive you for that.

I’d say it counts as a spinoff, but I’m not sure it’s so inconceivable - the game brought in a lot of new (or, like, me, old-but-long-dormant) players, and got some of the better reviews for a Pokemon game in some time. It was announced in early 2021, and these tend to be on a three-year release cycle, so it wouldn’t

I’d widen the aperture slightly wider to include films that aren’t action movies per se, but still benefit from the sense of scale in a theater (with Oppenheimer being the obvious example du jour). Otherwise I agree though.

And still nothing about a follow-up to Arceus, which is the one Pokemon game I’ve actually enjoyed recently. Sigh.

My only regret is that I have but one star to give to this comment.

Honestly, Jack Quaid seems like a delightful person.

Good news: you’re right that they are alumni from “The Opposition,” the short-lived late-night show on Comedy Central hosted by Jordan Klepper. Bad news: they are not alumni from the 2022 Persian film to which the included link directs us.

Dude, do you know how much those tentacles go for on ebay?

(People are into some weird shit.)

I wouldn’t be sure - she did have that Netflix show for a while, and I could see her liking the challenge. I did think Wanda Sykes fit that description though - did a very good job as guest host, but I can’t picture her wanting the gig long-term.

Just a few more years until they release Switch Classic, which for some reason will have a new shop where I have to $20 to buy Star Fox 64 for the eight time or so.

Minhaj. Hasan Minhaj. Not “Minaj” (as in Nicki). Come on, this was the single most easily-googleable part of the damn piece. (Especially after the controversy when he pointed out that Jon Stewart had been inadvertently mispronouncing his name the whole time).

Penn did a fantastic job. He’s my first choice of the guest hosts (with Minhaj and Sarah Silverman probably tied for second).

She’s by far my least-favorite correspondent, and I couldn’t stand her as host, but that’s partially just a matter of taste. I’m very disappointed, however, that we didn’t see Lewis Black’s scheduled week as host - even if he has no shot of getting the job long-term, I would have loved a few episodes with him behind
