In the Company of Wolves is this (wonderfully?, I think) weird Russian doll of a horror fable. Every time I watch it I'm mesmerized, but I can never remember exactly why.

It was far less in control of its own satire than An American Werewolf in London.

Have we ever gotten an explanation as to why the super-secret anti-Black Claw organization is called Hadrian's Wall? I mean, why that wall in particular? Were the Picts and other northern Celtic tribes Wesen? It seems so arbitrary.

Look, I don't approve of sexual infidelity almost ever, but I definitely don't think that Josh is "obviously whack". His reasons for breaking up with Liza are perfectly reasonable, and his attraction to and desire for a relationship with her are equally apparent. It doesn't necessarily mean they should be together,

If your decision to hire a sex worker is entirely contingent on your anxiety about sexual performance, I say you'd be doing yourself a disservice by doing so. It sounds like a situation that might be followed with a lot of regret. On the other hand, if seeing a sex worker is something you're excited about, that you

Who are these straight girls who don't like bi guys? Is it because there's a potential part of a bi guys sex fantasies they alone can't occupy? I mean, fantasies are fantasies. They're never always going to be the same person, if they're even a specific person at all.

Oh no, I get it! And I don't even know that they're aware of the criminal madness that's going on at the Marbella. But I do think that it's both understandable and wildly hypocritical of them that they're NOW concerned about breaking Michael's heart, when they're the ones who've been making family get-togethers

Especially, since Michael was so fervent from the beginning in standing up for her. It's not necessarily Michael who's trying to ignore or lie about his mistakes, and he's willing to go to the mats to make sure his parents don't get to run all over her. Jane just doesn't want him to jeopardize his (already fragile

Sure, they were valid-ish concerns, but they were also entirely one-sided. Michael and Jane's realization a few (last?) episodes ago that they're a better, stronger couple now than they were before is a good one. I mean, after all, Jane may have broken up with him, but it's not like Michael didn't break Jane's heart

Why must ANY incantation be in ANY specific language?! I've always been a little puzzled why shows with magic aren't ever more theoretical about that. I mean, SOMEONE's got to come up with stuff—write the incantation, choreograph the ritual, mix the potions, etc.—so how do they make it work, and why can't current

If this week's voiceover sample was anything to judge from, future generations aren't missing much.

What the fuck, man!! That's some unacceptable bullshit. Assuming, of course, that you're taking birth control primarily as a contraceptive, you using it so that you can have sex without getting pregnant, not because you just can't control yourself and you don't want baby consequences.

I couldn't have said it better!

Yeah, you definitely need to see another doctor. Before you go in actually write up a timeline of potentially relevant details and symptoms, so you can present it coherently and you won't forget anything.

I suspect your birth control probably plays a significant role. At least in my experience, however, the lag in libido after starting (or sometimes switching) birth control does rebound after a couple of months. And, of course, some birth control is worse than others. If it doesn't change for you though, it would

This is SO TRUE!

Hiring strippers isn't bad behavior. How they were treated was unacceptable—but not criminal—by any reasonable standard. The behavior reported by other lacrosse players at the party is WAY, WAY worse than anything that would ever be tolerated at any strip club I've ever been inside. Part of what a strip club

I disagree. Their advocacy and punditry was based on a lie. This "greater good" argument appeals to the wrong headed and to liars.

Unfortunately, it's also another famous example of "crying wolf" that undercuts the real and sometimes unprovable allegations from actual rape victims, making it increasingly harder for them to receive justice. One more way for people to dismiss them.

Yeah, I definitely think that's the way that story is going. But I also think Renard and Meisner are seriously going to butt heads.
