I read “New Again” in the headline and was thinking ‘like new’ and not ‘up-to-date’. On that score the number one thing you can do, IMO, is replace the shocks/struts. If it’s a car you’ve had a long time, especially one you bought new, I guarantee you’ve forgotten how nice it rode when you bought it. You might not

Frequently you can get the backup camera and touchscreen head unit in the same package if you’ll do a little shopping.

“How can you make this guy realize what a disgusting example of a human being he is,” Walker allegedly said.

First of all, thank you for resisting the urge to slideshow this list. You’re one of the good ones.

...but imagine eating tepid, room-temp, or slightly warm pickles under the sweltering sun.

My 2013 Smart ForTwo. It was supposed to be a sporty chick magnet. Turns out the transmission undercuts any sportiness it might have had and the only people chatting me up are dudes in big gas-guzzling trucks who dream of being able to keep money in their pockets for a change.

You may be a good driver but 95% of the other vehicles on the road with you are run by morons who are not.

Doesn’t sound nearly as bad as it could have been. I’m going to continue to not tempt fate, however. If the rental company is willing to get legit paying customers arrested for theft, what would they be willing to do to proven vandals?

Had dinner at Girl & The Goat once about 10 years ago. They asked if we had fish allergies or aversions because they put fish sauce in everything. I’m sure that was an exaggeration, but probably not much of one. Big flavor and aroma and surprisingly complex, it’s a powerful tool in your culinary bag of tricks.

There’s actually an interesting interaction between those two ‘rules’. Catfish are predators, not bottom-feeders. True, they’ll not turn their nose up at a easy meal laying on the bottom, but that’s not their main business. They’re “opportunistic predators” so they’re not necessarily hunters like a largemouth bass or

No, not a waste. Now, the value proposition might not be for everyone, but you are definitely buying something valuable with this money.

Meh. It comes down to what you want out of your vacation.

Excellent, thanks. I didn’t realize there would be actual test data in the linked article. (actually an article linked in the linked article.) Might be worth a mention? Or am I just being dumb and I’m completely missing something? At this point I’ve got the creeping suspicion I’m about to look like a bigger idiot than

I actually quite enjoyed the submissions on this QOTD. Well substantiated and written with some very articulate and reasoned counters. Bravo everyone.

I clicked into the article expecting to see substantiation of this claim since, as you point out, cheap DIY air cleaners have been covered before and so it didn’t occur to me this was simply another DIY article. Mind you, I believe this does work at least as well as, probably better than, most of the snake oil

Just saw this in the greys. Good deets there. That’s what I was looking for.

Sounds plausible for a backup safety mechanism, but sounds problematic for a vehicle with a potentially vicious animal and weapons inside. Is that just conjecture or do you have any details?

Do tell, please. I’ve been in a number of gov’t vehicles with police packages and I’ve not run across such a thing. I’d be interested in the details, especially if it is a bespoke installation. An auto blog such as this one would be the perfect venue to discuss such things.

“the air conditioning system malfunctioned” and that “other safety systems did not properly activate and the temperature quickly rose in the vehicle.”
