I’ve recently stepped up the hotel tips. I was on $5/day for a decade or more, but it’s 2023 and inflation is killing us all. I don’t feel right walking out of the room at the end of a weekend stay leaving less than $20, especially knowing some of you animals make plumb stupid messes and don’t leave these folks nuthin

Yeah, you’re right. Accuracy and journalistic integrity...pfft! What was I thinking? My bad.

Wait...so the hack is that instead of taking an hour or two to sort scroll through the roll you drag it out over the course of a year? I take a chore that I’ve been putting off because it is such a chore and turn it into an actual daily chore?

In the flavor department, true enough. But the gelatin gives the soup a satisfying richness that the MSG can’t quite deliver.

My #1 tip is to use unflavored gelatin. When you get a soup that seems almost perfect, has the right flavor, spiced just right, “maybe it needs salt but it doesn’t seem like it”, and “something is missing” - that something is gelatin. Dissolve a pack or two or three (depending on volume in the pot) of unflavored

I clicked in to rail against any form of retribution from workers in the name of ‘customer always right, just do your job’, but those first two are actually pretty great. They reflect the asshattery back at the flinger. Self-inflicted wounds. Nice. Have at it. More of those, please.

Oh, that’s easy. It was the...umm... No, wait, I know this one. It was definitely the... uhh... Crap. I forget.

I’ll allow it.

Cars bedazzled in Autozone Fast & Furious mods and accessories. That stuff is fine in itself, but the person who put it on fancies themselves to be some kind of outlaw racer or something. They’ve been beating on that thing and now that they’ve worn it smooth out they’re looking to dump it.

Absolutely right on the sandwich layer. I discovered this embarrassingly late in life. It makes me sad to think of all the chipless sammies I’ve eaten up till then.

I finally found the best tool for port cleaning just this week. Well, maybe not the best, but it’s the highest effectiveness:safety ratio I’ve found to date - interdental brushes

One of my local chains, Kum & Go, has the gas station sushi. It’s not bad.

In lieu of vacuum sealer or plastic wrap I dunk the bag in a deep bowl of water. (or the sink if you must) Zip it up except for about 1/2" at one end and submerge the bag starting with the opposing corner so the water pressure forces all the air out the opening above the water line, then close the zip. You might have

If the bacon is just for grease and you can sub olive oil... Would I go the full 1/4c if I skip the bacon and use animal fat I’ve got laying around or would that be overkill? (We keep a bowl of bacon grease on the stove and rendered beef fat bricks in the freezer.)

In early 90's I was in an 85 Camry hatchback with brake issues. I don’t recall exactly what the problem was, blown out rear drum cylinder or something, but I do recall that I shouldn’t have been driving it and I knew it. However, I was young and poor and I didn’t have the scratch to come up with another ride or fix

No, not just you. I was thinking the Alaskan King is more recreational than utilitarian, the equivalent of corking a playground surface so someone doesn’t get hurt in high population energetic activities.
