Straight engine swap in a mid-80's Nissan Sentra. OK, sure, it’s not exciting, but...

That sentence hit me like a truck. That is not a smart thing to do to get my business. If I order a Coke and get an affirmative reply - or worse yet a Coke appears on my order receipt - and I get a Pepsi I’m going to demand a refund and never order from you again. That’s not Artificial Intelligence, that’s Asinine

Jones was embarrassed. Not because of what was being said, but because he’s made a career of crazy and Ye just made him look like a rank amateur on his own show.

...presenting a gift card when it’s time to pay the bill might just make the diner feel self-conscious. It could come off as overly thrifty...

I’ve opted for the shotgun approach. The right one is in there somewhere.

Important info on Lifestraw:

I do and I do. Most days I’m lazy and don’t feel like putting in the work every flippin’ morning before I go to work. “Good enough” is good enough.

Funny. I’m listening to AM at this very moment.

You pretty much nailed it in the intro: if they’re really serious about coffee then they’ve already got everything they need. Also, everything you’re thinking about getting them because they don’t have one, you can pretty much bet they probably already had it at one point and have thrown it out as crap.

You got two of my top 3 with Batman and The Crow. The one you missed:

Totally agree. I can’t afford to have a Van Gogh hanging in my home but I can still enjoy a visit the Louvre, and I’m glad there are people who can afford it supporting the ecosystem that allows me to make that visit.

The statements on learning curve are true given the graph in the accompanying image.

True, but I’m on radiant with full coverage of the burner so the heat shouldn’t get much above boiling temp of the pot contents.

When I’ve got a giant stock pot on it occurs to me that I’m losing a lot of energy from the pot (and adding it to my air conditioned house) out the sides of the pot and it wouldn’t take much, like a silicone skin, to cut the energy loss drastically. Anyone know if any such thing exists?

IMO nailing the basics comes down to one thing more than most: getting the fat right. Good quality fat, don’t burn it, use the right fat for the food being cooked, cooking it at the right temp, make sure the right amount makes it to the plate (fries should be drained completely, eggs don’t mind a drizzle of browned

The yummy MPGs.

“It was our standard package, which we send as a thank you,”

I find your logic both unassailable and profoundly unsatisfying.

This sort of shenanigans is pretty standard across all apps, you just have to do some exploring of the menu. In the McD app my local store has a $4.44 deal that has a McDouble, 4pc McNugget, sm fry, md drink. I add lettuce to the burger for free and add tomatoes for $0.20. However, I found that when I do this I end up
