Wow, the two best remaining writers are leaving the site, this is a sad day. I’ve been following this site since 2008, and it’s been sad watching the quantity and quality of posts go through a steady decline, especially over the past ~5 years. I realize this isn’t the fault of the staff, but it’s incredibly sad to…
David and Tracy ARE Jalopnik. Everything else is just filler until they post something.
It’s not just David and Jason leaving man. It’s the broken comments system. It’s the constant listicles. It’s the lack of proof reading, the lazy reprints/links to other outlet’s articles, the ill advised hot takes like the “It’s okay people are robbing trains because they lost their jobs” article from a few weeks…
Same, Tracy and Torch were the only thing keeping this site in my daily rotation, so Jalop will be getting subbed out for whatever their next project is
Well, time to remove Jalopnik from my bookmarks. I’m looking forward to what you guys are up to next. And fuck Jim Spanfeller.
Oh... I, uh, don’t know if I’ll still come around anymore much after this.
Why do you always assume a misinformed article is kosher because it has a tertiary relationship to cars? Honestly, I don’t get it.
Miss the days when the writers actually wrote and thought about stuff. 90% of the site is now quotes and copy and paste dribble...Original thinking is hard at times, but worth the effort. Trying to rile up the ‘masses’ is a whole other thing altogether.
Part of Tesla’s loopholes are the carbon credits, EV credits, Alternative Energy Credits, etc.
They are using the credits that the environmentalists pushed on the country to cover their tax burden.
Here’s a big hint for everyone. The Green New Deal is this X 1000. You think there are too many companies getting rich…
I miss when Jalopnik wrote about cars
I won’t blame Tesla for this, just like I won’t blame any individual for taking a SALT deduction. This is the tax code and the only ones to blame for it are the politicians we voted into office
It’s a bad sign when the writer can’t make it through the headline without giving away the fact they don’t understand the subject they’re writing about.
1. “Federal taxes” =/= solely income tax. Where’s your payroll tax analysis?
Let’s be real: this is the fault of our elected officials. Dems had all three branches under Obama and did fuck all about stuff like this. Biden will do fuck all about this. Until we have campaign finance reform no politician will do anything about this. Yet....every election we vote for these people because they’re…
This was more than just yelling at them to move their cars. He did that first and then allegedly kept going and escalating it. If he had just yelled for them to move their cars and they arrested him it would be bogus but from the report there is more to it and not just a case of hurt police feelings.
I hope the outraged parties will also disavow the hefty, positive economic impact that accompanied the building of such a fabulous vessel in the area.
So, are you going to add in an addendum about how the mayor of Rotterdam has said no decision has actually been made and this probably won’t actually happen, like the article you linked actually says? I know rage gets clicks, but come on, have some integrity.
Jalopnik used to be a good automotive news site, now it’s just a political rag.
This should sort itself out. The protesters are the unvaccinated truckers so under the mandate they wouldn’t be trucking anyways. This is just a union type protest with trucks. A bunch of people clogging the street and making noise.
