If calling out sexist (or racist or homophobic) makes you 'difficult', then by all means be difficult. We aren't going to get anywhere as a society if people aren't going to make an effort to stop perpetuating the casual practices of inequality. It's the little things like this that reinforce the big things.

It really is a head scratcher.  It just makes no sense when you break it down.  If you talk to a conservative they will vehemently deny they’re trying to control womens bodies and keep them down, but IF that really isn’t their intention it sure is their end result, so it’s not clear what their intention really is.
