‘Fargo’ is a great movie in a lot of ways but to me there’s one unsung way in which it should be respected: It’s the only movie I can think of in which a main character is pregnant through most of the movie and does not give birth. No adorable infant crying, no new beginnings, no deaths balanced by new life. Marge

Now playing

I think 15 years’ worth of TV embarrassment humor starting with both Offices isn’t as cringe-inducing as this one scene

News flash : Criticising someone’s opinions is not equal to denouncing all their work

Arguably the greatest cinematic hero of all time.

Fargo is amazing. The Coen Brothers made Marge all the more badass by making her heavily pregnant. I loved that they showed her doing her (more physical, “dangerous”) job and make almost no comments about her pregnancy. One of the many brilliant things about this movie.

And (maybe) the Zodiac Killer in Zodiac!

You betcha.

Really, it’s kind of ironic to find old, long-expired seasonings in old people’s cupboards. Their sense of taste is compromised as it is, and that decade-old paprika doesn’t help. I bought my mom a new set of “basics” for her birthday (oregano, basil, paprika, nutmeg, etc) and it even got her to eat a little better.

Yum! I love paprika too. And my parents do the same things with spices. Whenever I cook at their house, I end up quadrupling spice amounts in order to get some life out of them.

If you can't smell your bay leaves, throw them out and buy new/better ones.

What does a bay leaf smell like? Nothing.

Funny story, we had a person prepping a kaffir lime ice cream base, and they mistakenly used bay leaves. It was actually pretty tasty. But the bulk of our bay leaves are used in savory preparations.”

[Raises hand] Mrs. Daisuke puts a few in her vegetarian chili, I can say she also forgets to take them out now and again. But lads, here's a top tip; if someone makes you food, don't complain.

The word choice isn’t the main problem. Sanders’ line comes off as saying that living in ghettos is an inherent part of the Black experience in America. He still hasn’t done a good job of showing he really believes that not every problem faced by Black people is a result of poverty.

He can say “ghetto” if he’s referring to Jewish ghettos in early 20th century Europe. But it’s not politically correct (for good reason) to refer economically-disadvantaged, minority neighborhoods as ghettos.

This is exactly what bothers me about Sanders...he thinks racism is just an economic issue...

Trayvon Martin didn’t live in any ghetto. His dad lived in a gated community in Florida with armed security.

That there is job security.
