Lots of folks will suggest the obvious ones of course - but never forget Will Vinton’s Claymation Christmas (often referred to as the California Raisins Christmas special). I always pull out the DVD for this time of year.

I discovered Metallica the way we all did. Through the expository song they did for the father/son body switching comedy starring Fred Willard.
Maybe if you’d click that link you’d know why Rhett said it that way.
“Well the old AVClub of course.” <— That was around when skeezehead Jimmie Spammerfella bought this kinja sh*t & destroyed everything cause his right-wing friends were pissed off @ the comments section of prime-time Deadspin ragging & making fun of all the stupid rich Republican f*ckheads, ie Spammerfella’s friends &…
Found an Ars Technica piece about it from the time. Turns out “A couple years sgo” in my mind was almost 16 years ago in 2007...
I was really close to googling Kate’s new summer hit record, “Ruth.”
As a Brit raised on Kate Bush, it pissed me off as well to read stuff online about people listening to her stuff for the first time and the fanbois going “oh you only like her because of Stranger Things.”
Because it’s entirely possible to be “popular on the Internet” and yet still only be known to a tiny minority of the people on the Internet.

Well, the original Top Gun was definitely a movie-length Navy recruitment commercial. Although I haven't seen Maverick yet (waiting for the hype to die down), I’m sure it has some “propagandistic” aspects. But Lockheed Martin? On the one hand, Elon Musk’s raging incompetence is very funny. On the other hand, the fact that there are people who think this absolute moron is a smart businessman who’s accomplished anything of value is legitimate evidence that humans are doomed.
Cool. Let’s make water harder to get.
Beef can be raised ethically and in a carbon-neutral (even carbon-negative) fashion. The problem is that most people can’t afford to buy pasture-raised meat and dairy because wages have long since fallen behind inflation. As a result, large corporations have come in and riddled the industry with unethical,…
Affordable is going to be the problem. If you think about the fact that you need to put in the energy required to make the fuel, transport it, and then burn it at only 25-40% efficiency, its lifecycle cost is going to be many times higher than that of charging an electric car. Even if they have their own turbines…
You’re forgetting the other key ingredient of this fuel: electricity. It’s only carbon-neutral if the electricity to produce it comes from a renewable source.
