I was actually thinking of Norway, since I'm of Norwegian descent but nobody in my family has ever been. What didn't you like about it?

Where (outside of Rekjavik) would you recommend visiting? I'm considering a trip elsewhere in Scandinavia and we would have a layover in Iceland regardless, so it would be a nice chance to see a new country!
That looks like my trash can during allergy season. No thanks.
Wow, it sounds like I should really look into UUs. Thanks to everyone!
I know a couple Unitarians who can't say enough good things about their church. Thanks for recommending it!
I think I could/do, yes. The idea of a single higher power seems the most feasible to me - I used to be a very ardent atheist but have recently found myself questioning my disbelief. I am drawn to the idea that there is something greater out there, even though I know rationally there isn't much evidence for it.
The Abrahamic religions are the ones that seem like they resonate with me most right now, but I'd be willing to keep my options open. What I really should do is start attending services of different faith traditions and see if anything seems like a good fit.
Have any of y'all gone from being atheist/agnostic to religious? I feel like I need some structure in my life and would be interested to hear if anyone else has converted TO something, and what your experience was like.
When I was a junior in college, I studied abroad in China. I had taken Mandarin for two years before arriving, but had never used it outside of a classroom setting, so when I first arrived I felt very self-conscious about speaking to Chinese people.
You could describe my CrossFit trainer that way, and he's one of the sweetest people I've ever met. I just started this summer (coming from no workout routine at all) and have really enjoyed it. Do make sure, before signing up, that your gym makes you feel comfortable going at your own pace and that the trainers are…
While in China I tried blueberry potato chips. They were very odd, like eating blueberries and chips at the same time. I am skeptical of the cappuccino chips.
Frankly, I'm surprised it took that long to show up. I admire everyone's restraint.
Guessing that Breno Giacomini, for one, does not hate Sherman.
HAWKS!!!!!!
Curious Seahawks fan here - what bad calls did you think there were? The only one I can think of was the one where we fumbled at the goal line and then "recovered" it, but we got no points off of that and the 49ers ended up with it in a better field position on the next play anyway.
THANK YOU. I white-knuckled onto my neighborhood sports bar for the second half of Saints-Seahawks (and was pleased with the outcome - GO HAWKS). I love football and can tell a bubble screen from a post just as well as anyone. I know sports aren't Jez's wheelhouse, but it would be nice to acknowledge that women…
I do, but I'm a Seattle expat on the East Coast. One is the loneliest number. :(
I can't believe this thread has gotten this far without someone posting the SEAHAWKS WEDDING!!!!
Came here to post this. I'll graduate from law school with over $200k in debt (I followed everyone's advice and went to the best school I got into - it worked since I have a job after graduation, but that shit ain't cheap). The minimum payment on my loans will be about half my monthly income. I won't be broke, but…
No, way too many brunettes.
