Let’s no be so hyperbolic. McDonalds has had tons of violent incidents for decades and NOBODY avoids them. Also, I suspect most of the people going through the drive thru are UberEats and DoorDash folks.

I think at this point it’s better to just go and get the local grocery store chicken, just to avoid the stabbings and other chaos

Good.

I believe this is why her statement is worded the way it is—she is trying to let people know that she can’t speak her mind for fear of losing custody of her children.

She’s also almost assuredly barred from dragging him in the media by the terms of their divorce, specifically the custody stuff. You can’t be dragging your ex if it could be seen as alienating your kids from him or you could lose your kids. Even if everything you say about him is true.

I’m glad you have never met a sociopath. They can be charming. If all monsters looked like monsters everyone would be safe.

“I’m always super surprised by people married to predators who don’t seem to realize it. How much interalized misogyny must someone have before they accept some behaviour is beyond the pale.”

She originally filed for divorce in 2006 and accused him of “cruel and inhumane” treatment in the divorce papers. She also said he exhibited “extreme anger and hostility” toward her.

My first question reading the title was “Why?” And then of course you find out because some fucking vultures are hounding her for a quote.  It is beyond a shame she even had to release a statement like this.

She divorced him, people shouldnt be asking her about this. She isn’t required to have an opinion on her ex -husbands criminal behavior.

I hate the interviews where the star and interviewer at a top restaurant where the star picks at a salad the whole time. We get it both of you are living glamorously

Hm something tells me Turner won't face the same level of criticism on this site that Jamil does.

It continues to bother me that any book would be marketed or considered to be as emblematic of the “feminist movement.” Half the world are women - how could any one book, any one story, embody us all? How could there possibly be ONE united “feminist” point of view?

Definitely noted. I put nothing on her for feeling like she had to stay. Most women would probably stay in the same situation, in order to protect themselves and give their children a safe person to turn to even with abusive boyfriends or husbands who have less power and fame.

Should be noted that when she filed for divorce back in 2006, she was 7 months pregnant with their 3rd child.

I think the fact that she had nothing but pumpkin seeds up there somehow makes it less gross? Like sure she was rooting around in her butt, but she had fucked up her digestion so much that there was literally no poop there so its not like her hands are covered in shit or anything. That or barely digested solids are

It's not gross. Anyone who has ever eaten too much of anything will have a similar story.

I have to agree, this wasn't quite the grossest thing I've ever read or experienced, but then, I'm a nurse with great experience in Interventional Proctology. But as first efforts go, it's not bad. Here's a pro tip for all: don't dig in your pooper with your fingers on a daily basis. It leads to prolapse of the anus.

Same here. The conclusion just filled me with a sense of great relief for the author. Also, extreme gratitude that I live in a country with universal healthcare.

I didn't find it particularly gross either. I kept waiting for the gross shoe to drop and it never did.
