My Papa was thought to be pretty radical for 1. being a nurse (he ended up being a charge nurse) 2. Helping my gran with the kids/cooking/cleaning. In fact, they worked their shifts so that neither was working at the same time. This was the 60s mind, in small-town Scotland.
