If someone breaks into my house, I should have every right to shoot and kill, without having to think it over. I will not put my family’s life in danger over the life of some punk. If you break into a house, yo do it willingly and understand all the risks that come with it, you take the gamble as you said. You can’t

Zimmerman proved self-defense. Also, contrary to popular myth, he did not invoke Florida's "stand your ground" laws. He claimed he was attacked and defended himself, i.e., good old-fashioned self defense. You can disagree with the verdict or the Jury's interpretation of the facts, but that's how it went down, legally.

Not trying to rehash the Zimmerman case, but if you’re getting your head bashed in like he did, it’s not unreasonable to call that fearing for your life.

It shouldn’t apply when you’re in your own home. If someone breaks in your home, you should have every right to shoot him. Look at what happened to Sean Taylor.

US law (which I’m using to refer to the laws of the respective states) requires REASONABLE fear for one’s safety. We can argue whether juries and public opinion apply that standard equitably and correctly, but I think it’s worth pointing out that at least in theory that’s what the law is.

Why should the prosecution be entitled to a do-over?

I get the anger, but it’s just a game. Wishing a mass shooting on anyone is fucked up beyond belief. You should be ashamed of yourself.

So much great writing leaving. So much Sam Biddle staying.

Uh, not sure Charlottesville (or any big college town) is the best representation for “small-town” America.

youre not getting any clicks with that attitude

Piffle. I’m 65 years old and never thought of any comparison between Muhammad Ali and Rocky. And in none of the conversations both before going to college and after getting there was any reference to following in Ali’s footsteps. There was anger at him because, for anyone who had no intention of running to Canada or

This is a baller move of the highest caliber. Dwayne Johnson would be proud.

So it had no author?

In the first movie he doesn’t even win. He just finishes the fight.

So can we be clear-deadspin hates white people and will do everything possible to disparage them. This is a chamber of echoes and no debate is tolerated.

theyre just decent sports movies. Can't we just leave it at that?

As a rule of thumb in baseball that: you always overpay for a front line starter in free agency. If you want a guy in his prime you basically need to pay $1 million a start. It’s a significant investment/gamble that this guy will give the team 3 years as a top man, everything else is just gravy.

Your tears sustain us.
