This is more like having the same band (the cast), but losing the star producer.

Right— his character isn't a "manly man", but his skills are all manly. First he was a quarterback, then he was a plumbing genius, then an air conditioning genius. If the group's car ever breaks down, Troy is the one I'd expect to fix it.

Today on Hollywood: I Can't Tell If You're Being Serious Anymore, I become a little more jaded and cynical.

If it's a superhero movie then so is Carrie.

Disagree. The square sensibility may be noble, but it's from a past era, and it can't help but feel chintzy. They succeeded with Captain America but they did it by contrasting him with the actual world, and by pulling him, literally, out of the 40's and into modern times. The contrast is part of the story.

Making a decent Thor was indeed quite a trick. I didn't even want to watch it; I just wanted to be caught up for The Avengers. "Asgard… yay?" But it was actually a good, solid movie. Nothing earth shattering, but definitely respectable.

It's about how much money it'd take to make a new one. Jessica Alba doesn't come cheap, and I doubt Captain America would return to his role as Johnny Four.

If it wasn't for the found footage crap, it would have been a pretty great movie. It gets better towards the end, when the kid holds the "camera" with his mental powers instead of his hands, so the camera becomes steady and omnicient.

It was a good show with great writing. Better than great writing. But I never mourned it or felt an insatiable urge for more. Not like Community, which left me scrambling all over the internet for clips and extras once the third season ended, and already has me pre-mourning its inevitable cancellation.
