Similar for me. I’ve been struggling of late because I couldn’t handle the outrage cycle, even coming from some dear online friends, due to my own health issues. It’s FOMO and stark loneliness as no one around me shares any interests.

I don’t recall much advertising. I’m sure it exists, but either it didn’t reach the platforms I’m on (mainly sports, admittedly) or it just didn’t catch my eye/stick in my memory.

sad but true

I’m sorry you’ve have to deal with much more than annoying relatives. And I have to see them at least four days a week.

Maddening as it is, that’s the perspective of my SIL and MIL—both actual women, licensed counselors and card-carrying trumpies. Unless he’s got a knife, a ski mask and maybe roofies, it’s not rape or assault and all claims are just money-grubbing.

but never a ginger cake

Yeah, but “annoyed siblings” describes 90% of the non-homicidal Time Lord interactions and even a large subset of the others.

Reminds me of the Jedi in Star Wars. They’re extinct, but they keep popping up all over the place.

If this is from Gall-on-Gall violence, perhaps yes...they’ve designed weapons keyed to take out their specific enemy, themselves.

Yeah, I caught that last night, having finally gotten to an attentive watch of the ep.

My own struggles make me want to watch this but unable to do so, so I’ve just been following the recaps for years. It does seem like a quality product. Maybe someday I’ll be less crazy.

I still enjoyed the show, but...yeah. The racists have shown they aren’t leaving the NFL and this is an attempt to appeal to a demographic the league desperately wants.

My in-laws complained that there was too much Spanish and that it was racism there weren’t white backup dancers. In other news, I hate every part of my life.

I wasn’t sure what to make of them at first--love heists, not into cars--but they really grew on me as they got more outlandish. I got a box set a while back to watch with partner who had never seen them and it was fun.

True. But I like to pretend on the internet.

I think this every time our local priests get up to blame the media for creating such a spectacle instead of letting the church (bury) handle this. They are all complicit in trying to obscure and hide.

At one point, before giving it much thought or hearing about how bad the biology is, I watched because it seemed aspirational to see people with serious weight (and mental health) issues doing something to fix the problems I was struggling with.

I’m currently only about 50 pounds heavier than “ideal” and, back when this show was a thing, I sometimes hoped for a series I’d fit on, because I will go work out 24/7 and learn to eat healthy but I can’t do it with two jobs and a household to care for.

I am very sorry you had to go through that.

Wasn’t that a plot point (can’t believe I’m citing this) in Independence Day? They didn’t tell the President so he could have plausible deniability.
