If they are going to do single movies instead of trilogies, I really hope they can look at Rogue One as an example. Quality cast, self-contained storyline, relevant to Main Story but separate (until the last few minutes, at least).

It sounds like I’m being facetious, but I really did like the idea of a trade dispute being the undoing of the Republic. Sure, Palpy was pulling strings and whatnot, but there’s room for political and economic storylines, perhaps in thrillers or superspy adventures (Bnod. Jymes Bnod) about the…
It’s a mixed bag for me. I love SW stories so I have checked out the animated, but the art style never really clicked with me as matching the serious content.
As a former government worker, I am not at all surprised by that story but I had not heard it before.
I have to agree and I really appreciated that. The stakes felt bigger because the puppet is so cute, but also because the struggles of this post-war world seemed well drawn out.
Some bureaucrat ordered 50 million cases of helmets fitted to Jengo Fett’s head and 30 years later they’re still using up surplus.
He’s the most famous guy in Mandalorian armor. Epic badass with a really bad day or doofus in stolen gear, there’s good conflict there with the survivors of the Mando way.
Especially in SW where every planet is one biome of a homogenous people.
I think it was Black Sun, or one of the old EU books, that had Vader trying to heal himself via the Force and (IIRC) his anger kept it from taking. It wasn’t on point with this, and it’s not canon anymore, but it’s close enough that I think that the same concept should be applied in the new reality.
I get where you’re coming from, even if I would largely disagree, but when I look at the amount of bad fanfiction that made it into print in the old EU (it’s a space station that’s a lightsaber!) I’m more of the mind that it’s always been a pick-and-choose from expanded content of varying quality.
As a lawyer, I understand completely.
Thanks for clarifying. That makes more sense, in a world that doesn’t make sense.
One thing I liked, in retrospect, was how the X-wings lit up that station rather simply. To me, it gave some weight to the years of dogfights and battles we’ve seen that these military machines are the real deal and the ships that stand up to them must also be powerful.
Thanks for this. I have a distant relative by marriage who is occasionally in credits (even won an Emmy as part of a vfx team a lifetime ago) and it’s cool to see his name, but I can’t imagine doing that for every film.
Adam Pally and Jason Sudeikis, per another article.
“loving nitpicking” sums up exactly the approach I was looking to describe. thanks.
Agreed. It’s also unclear that the “churches” referenced are dioceses, ie, regional baronies of many churches.
Every time I attend with family (I cannot defend my own boundaries, okay?) the priest uses the homily to complain about anti-Catholic forces...you know, anyone that acknowledges the massive abuse and coverup as anything but a conspiracy.
I was officially Too Old for that movie when it came out and I love it to this day. It really resonated with me at the time, for reasons, and it may be seen as cheese in some circles, but it’s still one of my favorites.
It is a family obligation that I must attend mass somewhat regularly, despite my own feelings on organized religion and the church itself. One thing I’ve noticed in my parish was the only serious attention to sexual abuse was when the bishop starting making national news and donations dried up. Now he’s gone and the…
